It's good that someone clarified you should measure at midshaft, instead of at the thickest part of your penis. I believe most men are thicker at the base (there are some exceptions, but the general trend seems to indicate that BG is where most guys are the thickest), myself included. I could go around bragging about my whopping 6.2" BG, but I'd rather be honest with myself and everyone else. I have no more than 5.3" of midshaft girth (which is very much out of proportion with my comparatively massive BG), and that is my official measurement. BG doesn't count for much IMO, since it is not "functional" when having sex, nor does it add to the overall size of the penis, except maybe if you tilt your penis toward the roof and someone gets down on her knees and looks up at it.

I disagree that base girth isn't functional. If you measure your girth where the penis exits your body then you can use that portion.

:sMotlissof, I had phalloplasty and had alloderm inserted and gained over an inch. Going to have second surgery in September which should give me right about 7.75 inches mid shaft, and over 8 inches base girth
