Hi All,
I will be in Boston for a couple of days this week visiting family. Unfortunately, the trip falls on two of my main workout days. Can anyone give me a recommendation for good gyms in and around the Boston metro area? There are a lot of Bostonites here in the forums - so please HOLLA!
Also, please let me know of some reputable stores that carry weightlifting shoes/boots - i.e.- Otomix brand. Weightlifting footwear can't be found where I live and I'm hesitant about buying shoes online without trying them on first locally. I recently got busted for doing squats without shoes at my gym . . . so I need to get some soon.
One more thing: Have any of you ever tried to take your whey powder and other supplements on carry-on while flying? I'd really like to take my whey and creatine powder with me on the trip, but fear the transportation security will stop me and fuck with/seize my supplements. They have a bad habit of getting into shit that contains food, as well as smearing chemicals on food preparation utensils (pots and pans). I recently went on a hiking trip in the Guadalupe mountains and the fuckers smeared some kind of chemical on my camp pots. I have no idea what the chemical was, but I'm sure it is not safe to eat . . . Even if I purchase more whey and creatine in Boston, I'm still going to be on the plane for about 7 hr stretches. The flights are in the middle of the day - during my prime "eating times." Even if I don't get to work out at the gym (family obligations), I still want to make sure that I eat well. I am planning to stock up on some Cliff bars, but you can only eat so many of those . . . Any suggestions? Another consideration is that I will only be able to take 1 - 2 carry-on pieces of luggage. I will not be able to check any luggage.
Update: I just talked with my mom and she says that the airline probably won't provide a meal - let alone a vegetarian meal. . . I don't know what I'm gonna do about this situation. HELP! I gotta eat.
Thanks,
HOOS
