fed up with this up and down weight gain and loss

ive read all the books ive done all the science and im varying my calories, im varying my types of food and i lost 14 pounds in about 2 months then i seemed to have stalled at a certain point where i will lose 2 pounds then i will gain those 2 pounds so im stuck at this point where i start getting into my last 10 pounds to lose and hey presto a week later ive gained those few pounds to take me back up again........

the diet that really worked for me was the atkins diet but i felt it was too limiting and i felt little energy,is it possible to go onto the atkins diet and reach my target weight then introduce carbs again ?

is there anything out there that will enable me to lose fat fast ? or rather faster than the one or two pounds ive been losing......its just getting me depressed and frustrated because im doing all the work and yet im stuck at a certain weight

is there any supplements that are proven to work ?

i hope someone can advise because i really am doing all the right things

all the best

Ever had your thyroid checked? The thyroid controls the metabolism of the body.People that have under average thyroid activity, tend to gain weight quickly, and it is also very hard to keep weight off.........where as people that can eat anything and still remain thin have an over active thyroid. Also your lymphatic system may need to be looked at as well.

ive never had these checked out, what seems to have made a change is the usage of anti depressents, the only other thing is i like a few beers now and again and i have noticed that beer stops me from losing weight, ive probably answered my own question there, but do we really have to abstain from beer completely in order to lose and maintain our weight

Aim for a realistic weight loss.
One or two pounds a week is good.
Crash diets where you lose weight quickly do not work and you gain even more weight when the diet "ends".
Instead of going for an unrealistic end weight lose a few stone and see how you feel and look !
A lot of slimmers look awful when they lose too much weight .

Loosing weight is a long term game. You need to find out an eating plan you'll be able to stick to for a while (at least a couple of months). There are 100s of plans to choose from. It all depends on your lifestyle, taste, etc.
Dieting is not a rocket science.
Let's say you'll loose all the weight on a low cal diet. It's easy. The harder part is to keep that weight off for next few years.

i suppose im doing quite well really because i still eat foods i love and it may have taken me 13 weeks but ive managed to shift 20lbs........ my biggest problem seems to be impatience ,oh and the odd weekend beer bender

I think people tend to not think properly when dieting. I do lots of veggie juice, fresh made. I go through 50 lbs of carrots per week. What I find is this. Now this is gonna sound nuts.

Think diet. I pretty much eat what I want and don't worry about it. With the exercize I do I figure at 6'0, i'm not getting any lighter than 180. I'd like to get to 170, but I don't think that is going to happen. My downfall is cookies and soda, about 1 can a day. I drink boyans organic cane soda. Not really good for you, but better than the SHIT they put in Coke.

Anyhow I think fast and I do fast. When I do normal routines, I think of them as exercize. Like yesterday. Wife got sick of cleaning out the old mulch out of the mulch beds after 1 wheel barrell full of the old mulch.

so when I got home I decided to exercize. I cleaned out those beds, all 15 wheel barrel fulls in like 20 minutes. I was pouring sweat as if I worked out for 2 hours.

But this is what I do. I turn everything into exercize. I like the house clean. I go home and I vacuum the whole house. I go nuts and when I'm done, I'm pouring sweat. I run 2 flights with 2 laundry baskets. I'll run the trash outside.

Everything I do I do fast and I think "burn fat" while I'm doing it.

I don't really exercize a lot. I do about 200 pushups a day, the tibetan 5 rites every day and I do cardio 20 minutes 2-3 x a week.

I eat hot peppers, which I've heard > your metabolism 5%. I take ZMA which is very good. I however don't program food with guilt either, which has a lot to do with it. I'm not saying I have all the answers, but there is a lot more to this than just what you eat, it's what you think.
