I wanted to take a couple of minutes and share a few threads of wisdom. As we get older and more wise, we should take the time to give back.
For the Fathers and Mothers of the forum and in your lives. All of you have one incredible and powerful gift that you can give your children. You may not be a parent yet but remember this. You may have children already so think about this hard and make sure you are giving this wonderful and priceless gift to your children. I know some of you well enough to know that you are already doing this. Others I worry about. This is a gift that may not even have been given to you but you can find that you really still have it to give. What is the gift that you can so graciously give to your children? Confidence. Confidence is the generally found to be missing element of all personal failures. Worse yet, many very intelligent people have everything but confidence, that almighty faith in one's self, and they never take that step forward into success.
I have known many people from around the world and from all cultures and I have seen this exact same thing no matter the circumstances. The wealthiest young man in a certain African village got there because he was confident. He was not the smartest. He was not from the wealthiest family. He had confidence in himself and he took this first steps into success. He is my friend.
So give your children, all of them, this wonderful gift. Encourage them. Don't say, "You can't" but do say, "let's see how you can." Guide them without jealousy from your heart. Don't compare them to each other as they are individuals with potential for success. Your children are a piece of you that will live on and they all carry your line. Give them this gift to succeed because they cannot make that first step without you there encouraging them along. Nothing else in your life could possible be more important than this. Take the time and do it and they will make you and generations to come very proud. Make sure your kids understand to teach their kids this is well.
