Your methods will work. There are brothers on here that use their extender as their main length device. If you can do bundled stretches like 10 minutes before, putting on the extender it will benefit you.
It can be enough by only rotating your penis back and forth, if you can't stretch right now. Just softing the tissue up.
This will pre-deform and pre-elongate tunica albuginea, so you will see more temporary elongation after your session with the extender. I did this with my broomstick routine as well.

I wish I had an extender as well to just try it out, when I'm at home. I believe I would gain faster then.
