Anybody see this flick? I went for the second time earlier today. One of the best movie-going experiences I've ever had. If you don't know what it is it's two exploitation films with fake trailers interspersed between them. There's Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror which kicks all kinds of ass and then there's Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof. The trailers are Machete, Werewolf Women of the SS, Don't, and Thanksgiving (my favorite). On my first viewing I liked Planet Terror better it has over the top violence, smokin hot chicks, and even Tom Savini the godfather of gore. But on my second viewing I liked Death Proof more for some reason. It also has hot chicks, Kurt Russel owns, and the best car chases I've ever seen (although I haven't seen that many classic car movies). What are your thoughts?

I too saw it twice, Both the latest showings I could get, one on opening night, one on the night after.

"They just fucked with the wrong mexican!"
lol

Which fake trailer had Fu Man Chu?

There was something bitchin I noticed on the second time through. In Planet Terror, when the lesbian that gets eatin is in her car broken down on the side of the road, the radio says "Mourning the loss of Jungle Julia"

Did you notice that? I wasn't a hundred percent sure both movies were connected until the second time through when I actually heard "Dr. Block" being yelled, the other time it was muffled by some asshole talking.

BTW I heard it got horrid reviews, or were my friends just fucking with me?

I didn't hear any reviews but I don't listen to critics.

*spoilers*

Fu Manchu was in Werewolf Women of the SS. I noticed the radio thing for Jungle Julia too. Her death was such a great scene, she got her shit totally ruined. I heard Machete is going to be made into a direct to dvd movie, that would be sweet.

sweet deal, I'll have to pick machete up.
I was with one of my friends and right after the first collision scene, he turned around and tried to yell in the projector room to rewind it. Everyone in the theater laughed.
