I bought a Bathmate several years back (at least 4, but I don't remember exactly). When I bought it there were only two models (regular and max), and you could get them with or without the bulb (IIRC). I got the regular one because I wasn't massive, and tried several times to get into a routine, but always fell out of doing it regularly. It was hard to find privacy, especially once COVID hit, in a small house with a big family. The funny thing is, I didn't really care about my erect size at the time. I was about 6.5" and pretty girthy, and was okay with that. It's not embarrassingly small and I was in an unhappy marriage and getting laid much anyway. But I was (and somewhat still am) a grower, and I really wanted some more walking-around heft, so to speak.
Earlier this year, I got divorced, moved to my own place, and most of the obstacles to using the pump disappeared. I got into a routine. I didn't really notice any gains at first, just like all the previous times, but my walking-around size was bigger for at least a few hours after a pump, which I liked, so I kept with it.
Five weeks in, all of a sudden, I started seeing rapid gains. Like half an inch in the second month. I started mixing in a shorter second pump in the evening some days, and grew another half inch each of the following months, maybe even a bit more (which startled me). As a result, my penis is now pressing hard against the release valve and it's pretty uncomfortable. Right from the start, I filled the circumference of the unit, and now, most of the time, after a pump, I get stuck in the comfort sleeve trying to pull out and have to gently pry myself from it, which isn't an entirely pleasant experience.
Also, I got laid for the first time in years last week and she -- seemingly genuinely -- remarked that my penis was both big and "pretty", which has really motivated me to want to keep going even though I used to not care about erect size. I guess I've joined the tribe.
So... I decided to look at the "Max" model that I remembered seeing and when I went back to their site... holy crap, there's a lot of models now from little tiny to giant and even extra girthy ones. They look basically the same as the model I have except for coming in different sizes and some slight coloration changes. I'm trying to figure out what to get next. I think the original model with pump was the equivalent of the HydroMaxExtreme7 probably? At least, the markings on the side go up to 7. Going to the HydroMaxExtreme9 seems like the logical next step, but after such rapid gains, I'm wondering if I should skip that and go to the 11. I don't want to use the 11 if it's not going to work for me, but since I kept using the 7 until I was firmly squished against the end, I'm a bit over 8 inches now, which is more than halfway through the range of the 9. If I keep having gains like I have been, the 9 will be too small within six months at the outside, and they're not exactly cheap units.
So my main question is how small is too small for the 11, and are the current models compatible with the old ones - are the bulbs interchangeable, etc.
