Which ruler should I use?

Hi guys,
I have two rulers and today I measured and I've noticed that they give different lengths when I measure my BPEL. One is a plastic ruler and I'm 17.5 cm when measure with it, the other is a metal ruler and I'm 18 cm when measure with it (probably because it is thinner and can go deeper in my pubic bone).
So which one should I use to measure? They both accurate.

I would say that it doesn't matter, as long as you're consistent and use the same one every time.

Dude avoid metal rulers! You don't want to cut off your cawk. Use a tape measure like the ones the use for sewing.

Of course I use the same one every time, but which one? Half a centimeter is a big difference.

As far as I'm concerned, the sole purpose of measuring is to track progress. I not overly concerned with what the number is, except with how it compares to the number the last time I measured.

It may be useful to figure out why the measurements are different, for the sake of consistency. You speculated about it in your first post, and it's not a bad guess at all.

Here's are the reasons I can think of that would make rulers measure differently:

1. The size/shape of one allows you to press deeper. This was your guess.

2. One ruler is "sharper" on the end and does not allow you to press as hard.

3. One ruler has more dead space before 0.

4. One ruler is flexible. Even a VERY slight bend will change your measurement.

5. One ruler is bent or warped in some way. Those cloth seamstress tapes can get stretched out over time.

6. The rulers are just not the same measurement. I'm not sure that I've ever seen this happen, but it doesn't seem impossible.

7. Something about your measuring technique is inconsistent.

8. God is playing a practical joke on you.

If you can't figure it out, just pick one, or get a third ruler.

If the bigger measurement makes you happy, go with it. If the bigger measurement makes you feel like you're cheating yourself, go with the smaller one.

Flee from always measuring. Measure erect length once in 6 months to avoid depression. Use your eyes to gauge your gains in the main time.
