I am currently on my second muscle gain mission in three years. The first time I worked at it for a year,and then gave up for year. This january I have come back with a vengance, joined a gym, bought nutritional suppliments / weight gain/ protein and made a regimen.
The thing is , whilst I look bigger this time (althoguh some of it is fat), I have hit a plateu and it is killing my enthusiasm. For the past three months I have not been able to curl more than 16kg (per arm).
MY wrists really hurt and feel like they cant take any more weight. If I go to 18kg, my arm doesnt even move, it just cant do it. There are no inbetween weighs, so I have tried other exercises to build up my strength in other ways, such as holding heavy weights and raising and lowering my shoulders. I have made progress with other muscles, but curl wont go to #18kgs.
Its really frustrating, I go the gym three times a week and take all my suppliments... why oh why cant my wrists and bicpes get any stronger !?!?!
