Is that possible? That way we could write and read posts, while also being in contact with online [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]mos[/words] forum mebers. We would not have to stop reading, researching, replying, or posting anything, so that we leave the page we are on repeatedly over and over to write and reply to messages sent to our inbox. We could stay on the same screen and continue what we are doing while also having a discussion with another member.

If you just don't want to change the web page you're on to go to your inbox, simply open another web page, go to this site, and use it for checking the inbox. There's also a chatroom here, but you have to motivate people to use it.
 
Or, people could just post their AIM user names wherever, and those who wanted to be contacted by AIM, could do so.
