I've been transfixed by the World Cup since the begining and there must be others on here that are in the same position as me.

IMO Argentina are going to win. Germany, Spain, Holland are all playing well.

France = bad.

Anyone else have any opinions on who'll win, etc.

I have lived in England for almost 14 years, and I discovered very quickly, that you don't call the beautiful game soccer........it's football!I do hope the England team win it, as this country needs a boost in morale!

England are through to the Quater Finals but I don't think they are playing their best yet.

I have a feeling Argentina will do it but I also think Spain might sneak in as they are on HOT form.

Should be very interesting now ... Italy didnt deserve to go through like they did today, that was NEVER a penalty and the Aussies for me were the better team but Italy had STRONG defence and they did very well with one man down and I didnt think he should have been sent off either.

My girlfreind is also Italian so I kinda got abuse from her for supporting the Aussies today.

Holland have a superb defence and goalkeeper ... but they never quite make it.

Lets see if England can do it ... Portugal will have two key players suspended for the match on Saturday. I hope for a England VS Germany or England VS Argentina final.

no way the aussies were a better team , italy was playing 1 man down for 40 minutes in the 2nd half and the aussies struggled to get a shot off let alone score. the penalty that occured in the box was indeed a penalty because the italian player was on his way to score inside the box and was tripped up from the aussie guy already on the ground, though the italian player did sell the call.

Switzerland vs Ukraine was possibly the worst match I've ever seen.

Neither team applied themselves and really neither team deserved to go through. Whatever you say about the Australia, Italy match at least both teams really wanted it and were prepared to stick their necks out to win. I was very impressed with the Aussie side for their strength throughout the squad.

Italy will cruise through to the semi's IMO but England have it tough. Portugal are a really strong team but England can beat them (and hopefully will).haha.

The fact that the England, Equador match didn't go to extra time stands in our favor since all the other round 2 matches have done.

Holland had a good team but really they were a bit young and inexperienced. In 4 years they will be a force to be reckoned with.

I'm loving it!! Great world cup all round.

Bye Bye Brazil and England. England played shiet and only started to move once Rooney got sent off which wasnt a sending off as the stamp to me looked accicental and the push was nothing [see Germany VS Argentina .. Ballack shoved Ayala in the box and nothing said].

England played VERY unorganised and with no structure at all. Players in wrong positions and no support on the left. Its a mixture of Sven's fault for messing with the tactics and going to that shit formation, when he could have kept at 442 with Crouch and Rooney upfront ... but the players didnt have the desire like they should .... only when Rooney was sent off did they go for it and even than it wasnt like some of the other nations we see.

The fans though, well they were champions and no country has better fans in football than England ... they must have sung that National anthem 20 times and they were chanting England and singing all the way ..... if that doesnt spur you on for your country I dont know what the fuck will ... I would have played my heart out on that pitch.

Lampard should have done MUCH better ... I myself would have took him off and played Carrick who could have set some up.

Usual shit penalties ... we have little bottle as football players in those situations, I will ADMIT THAT.

Englands Defence though was SUPenis EnlargementRB and I cant fault any of them, stunning display in my eyes.

England NEED to wake up and realise they are a good team ... not a world class team. They are full or pre-maddonas and build themselves up so much before a tournament that its sad and make themselves look stupid .... the team does not gel and it needs to communicate better on the field as the passing is nowhere near the class of say the likes of France and Argentina.

Once we get a new manager and start playing our usual formation I think we should get the team to gel and concentrate on the PASSING game and learn to take penalties and also understand we are not world class, just a good team ... that is all. Take each game as it comes and always give 110% in each as if it were your last ... this is my saying when I play Rugby.

I'm very glad France got through and they played SUPenis EnlargementRB. Brazil, glad they out as they always seem to get to the final.

I want Italy to win the world cup now, my girlfreind is Italian and plus she says I will get a very BIG surprise WHEN Italy win this world cup :O so I cant wait for that and will be crying if Germany beat them.

Love to see France in the final.

I agree with you RedZulu. England were just structurally all over the place. The 4-5-1 formation was pathetic and our midfield didn't move or flow enough to justify that formation. There were huge gaps between midfield and Rooney at almost all times.

Personally I think we have the players to have gone all the way but so do Spain, Argentina and Brazil. I blame Sven for a lot of what happened and although he has put a good team together he made some very bad managerial decisions throughout the tournament. Somehow our team just never really got in gear. We had moments of brilliance which showed what we were capable of but in the end it just never happened. Well done to the team though for the amazing defense in the second half of the Portugal match and well done to all the amazing fans.

Bring on another manager and the European Championship.

I was so impressed with the Italy - Germany semi final last night. Both teams were amazing and the spirit of the match was much better than any so far. I think that was due to the referee because he let the match flow and didn't stop it for free kicks at every oportunity.

I thought Italy deserved to win as they just outclassed Germany. I felt sorry for the German fans and team but Italy deserved it and they won with two unbelievable goals.

Best match of the World Cup so far IMO.

Was so happy Italy won, my girl said when Italy win this world cup she has a LARGE surprise for me ... bare in mind she is Italian also.

I hope its France in the final with Italy, that will be one hell of a final and lastnight it was like a final with Germany and Italy ... the passion was intense and England need to watch it and learn what passion is .... that was WORLD CLASS, the goals were breathtaking!!!!!!!

This sounds nasty but I loved seeing the German fans cry rofl they have had so many laughs on the British, so when Italy got those two goals lastnight it was SWEET SWEET SWEET baby.

The Portugal, France match was not as good tonight. Portugal showed themselves to be the diving and hacking team that they really are. I have to say that I expected more from France and hopefully they'll pick it up for the final.

That said, I want Italy to win it. They deserve it the way they've played. They have real passion.

Yep Italy were great, strong and played with pure passion .... I was PROUD of them and WISH England played with the same intensity and passion.

I'm also happy that Italy won. I love the way they play but I have to say that they were slightly out played last night by France even though they had good chances and had times of brilliance.
