Yes, this is what I do too. I can usually keep it going for a while when switching hands as they get tired. The upper hand and lower hand are using different muscles so when I change hands there is little fatigue and I can go longer.

Thanks for the tip, never came to mind. I will incorporate this into my routine.
 
Also you can grip with middle finger together with thumb and pointer finger, work for me great because there is much less fatigue on thumb and pointer...
