Speed exhaustion

I've been doing pushups and crunches extremely fast and to the point of exhaustion. When I do pushups at high speed, I can do 50 before my body gives out. With crunches at super speed, I can do 75 before giving out. Together, these probably take 2.5-4 minutes only. My question is, can I lose body fat and tone this way?

I'm not fat right now, but I used to be close to underweight (6'1" at 142 lbs) and over the last 2 years I've reached a noticable 170 lbs. I really just want to rid myself of oblique and back fat. I'm not the type of person that has the patience to exercise for over 20 minutes total (though, I've been walking on steep hills all month for 45 minutes almost daily). I DON'T want to lose ANY of my flexibility (I'm very flexible naturally, but when I was on the track team.. the muscle build-up caused me to lose some of that for a time). Does anybody know what I can do to rid myself of fat in the obliques and lower back.. maybe the fat bad, too ;)? Using "speed exhaustion" preferably, if someone can tell me it works without a doubt. I DON'T use large weights these days. I only work with 5 or 8lb weights, because I hate muscle mass and I gain it easily.

It'd also be nice to slim down my legs.. or entire lower body a WHOLE LOT... I gaine dmuch mass there in track. Especially since they made me use that leg press machine thing-a-ma-bob.

One last thing. When I was at Thunders a long time ago, there was this guy that was injecting himself, in problem areas, with this fat ridding thing... Any info on that or related things?

I don't know when muscle became undesireable, but whatever floats your boat.

To lose fat, look at your diet more than your "exercise."

Do a search on mesotherapy...

marathon running? I just say that because every marathon runner or cyclist is skinny as a damn rail. If its that you're looking for.. get the diet of a marathon runner maybe and do a lot of running my friend :)

Mesotherapy is not surgury at all... it's a procedure where they inject a solution into the area you want to lose and in time you will lose fat in that area. It's not as simple as that in that it requires 5-6 applications spread ofer several months and each application requires 40-50 injection throughout the whole area.

Actually only the professional marathon runners look that way. I've recently started training for sprint triathalons and have completed several races and a couple of half marathons and you'd be surprised how average most people outside of the professional ranks look.

Fat

This picture was taken a few months ago, so my oblique area has a bit more fat than the pic shows. I'm pointing towards the problem spot in the pic. I've also tried that.. bend to the side thing with the corresponding arm over the head... but it hasn't proven to do much. That and my ab sldie are the only ways I know of for working on the obliques, but they seem to just build more on there, rather than remove.

I actually have the same problem, the only way I was able to get it off was doing a lot of good ab routines and jogging each night over a course of about a month. Then it just kinda came back because I was unable to stick to the schedule.

Increase your protein intake and drop your carb intake by a quarter and you should reach the desired fat loss, but also will keep your lean mass. Having more muscle is a good thing and will ultimately make you healthier than if you were to simply attempt to lose "weight".
