OK, check this. I go to those places occasionally but I usually just get a beer and hold up the wall. For about 2 years since I have been going to some clubs, I have had many girls (OK maybe not many, but enough) ask me or basically beg me to dance and I have turned them down and just said "Sorry I dont dance."
Well this chick this summer, I had something kinda going on with. We worked together and all these people from work went. It was a weird situation. Dancing is a great way to meet women and also to socialize. I've been ballroom dancing for 8 years now. Salsa, Mombo, Cha Cha, American Tango, Argentine Tango, Rhumba, Waltz, Foxtrot, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Hustle, Night Club Two Step and just plain huggy huggy dancing are what I do.
I also improvise, mix and match dances to entertain the ladies. They just love it and have the best time when we play on the dance floor like that.
I get so many dates I have to schedule weeks in advance and the calbre of women I meet is very high. Hell, they all have a ton more money than I do.
The thing is, I'm in high demand by these women because I'm a great dancer, they know it and they want it.

Hey wants9, this is going to sound too easy but find a studio with the biggest dance floor and the most students. Just get on the phone and start calling the different studios. Ask the questions, how many students do you have total? How big is your dance floor? Ask them if they have public dances on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. Once you narrow it down to 3 studios go take a look see at them.
A good sized studio will have public dances once or more times a week and will draw not only its own students but dancers from other studios. The idea is to meet women so a studio with the most students that puts on dances gives you the best odds.
Independent Studios (American Style), Chain Studios (American Style) and Studios that specialize in International styles of dancing.
Independent studios are less expense than chain studios but are not standardized in their method of instruction. That means if you learn a dance like West Coast Swing or Hustle, etc and go out dancing you may have some difficulties with a dancer coming from a different independent studio.

Hi, Ive been involved in the club scene for a few years and I will reiterate what falcon already said...women LOVE dancing, both partner(swing, salsa, tango) and more dance club type dancing(house, hip hop).
I have a lot of experience in dance club oriented styles and am just starting to learn stuff like swing and salsa. IMO the best way to learn stuff like hip hop dancing or house dancing is to first find music that moves you then just start copying people you like. Watch music videos and check out the good dancers at whatever clubs youre going to. Copy then try to make it your own. From my experience, if you can go out on a floor and dance by yourself and look good, the women will swarm you.

Watch some MTV Base, some more Base, lil bit more base... dance along to vids with cool lookin but EASY moves, dance along with a full length mirror next to you... half a hour a day.
Get tipsy, Go clubbin' watch n' learn from good dancers... it helps if one of your mates can dance... SMILE and laugh, if girls think your having a good time then you don't have to pull moves like a pro.
