Forum "bugs" and settings. Make improvements?

Just wondering if some of the settings on the forum may be permitted to be changed.

I can use all the drop down menu forum features everywhere on the forum.

In certain sections and threads I can use the "thread tools" drop down menu to subscribe to threads and in other sections clicking on "thread tools" does NOTHING. This is what bugs me the most right now. I lost my thread subscriptions. Posting in those threads again does not re-subscribe me because I guess the forum thinks I am already subscribed. I figured if I could just manually select "subscribe" from the "thread tools" drop down menu then I could fix it but in certain parts of the forum "thread tools" is totally inaccessible. <

There are MANY other places where ALL drop down menus are disabled. In certain areas you can or can't access a member's drop down menu for PM etc options, nor can you even access your own "Quick Links", the search feature, and maybe more. ? <

Could the admin or whoever necessary please lighten these restrictions a bit so the drop down menus will be accessible consistantly throughout the forum. rofl ? :blush:

is thread subscription indicated not only in the user CP, but also as a little blue box with a tick in it that is aligned with posts/threads that you have participated in, in the public forums?

suddenly a month or so back all this info disappeared from my account and i now have only my ultra powerful memory to aid me in retracing my steps.

anyone know whats happened? i did pose this before but it died.

Not sure. here could be several factors with those boxes. The boxes may just indicate threads you have posted in, exclusively. If you choose not to automatically subscribe to threads you have posted in, then the result is obvious. Generally, or entirely, there are two ways to subscribe to threads: 1-Have the setting in your profile that automatically subscribes you to threads you post in. 2-Use the "Thread Tools" drop down menu to "Subscribe To This Thread". The problem I have with this forum is that you cannot access the "thread tools" and "subscribe to" menu everywhere on the forum.

Note sure what happened. My subscriptions were erased automaticaly as a result of being banned over that controversial thing. My PMs were saved but subscriptions gone.
Even though I have my CP set to auto subscribe me to the threads I post in, posting in the threads I had previously subscribed to does not re-subscribe me as if the forum already thinks I am subscribed. And most if not all of the threads I was subscribed to do not have "thread tools" "subscribe to" access.

Dude, the Chuck Norris stuff is a longstanding joke that started on college related websites where different slogans, usually impossible or incredible in nature, are made to celebrate Chuck Norris. The whole thing is a joke - do a google search.

Gotta get current with that stuff . . . even my dad knows about the Chuck Norris cracks and he's in his 70s.

I am aware of the problems that still exist. This is the reason we went down the other day (and 2 weeks prior to that) Our tech guy only had time to address the forum being down issue. He will be coming back this week to do all updates and fix any bugs.

Noticed the site went down for a while. But, none of this seems to have been remedied at all.Still can't use thread tools, search this thread etc in many places. Still have to be on the main index page a lot to use quick links, search etc. <

Just letting it be known. Not a big problem, but a persistant one. I understand things have been like this for a long time and I'm baffled as to why this hasn't been fixed already so it functions like a normal forum.
