Bad sense of direction

My sense if direction is not too good when I'm driving although I do not drive everyday but this is something I would to improve any tips are greatly appreciated.

I have a very rare form of dyslexia where I see everything backwards, upside down and inside out...hard to explain but I can not travel outside of my system without an assistant as I will get lost. On top of this I am legally blind due to my monochromatic vision, I only see black and white. For me even a GPS does not work as no matter how much it says go right I will ALWAYS go left...it really sucks. Most of the time my Son is with me or I have an assistant to get around.
