10 lbs Hanging SO setup

Would be even better if you would use a one wheel pulley about 3" in diameter. With no pulley you get inconsistent pull due to the resistance.

tell me what you guys think. I took half a euro-door hinge and screwed it to my desk. As you can tell I got to long of screws and didn't finish.

how would you go about attaching that to a desk?

Get and eye hook and open it a little and put the loop of the pulley in it. Get one big enough that you can fit it into the eye. You might need to pilot the wood on your desk to be able to screw the eye into the wood. GS

By pilot, he means to drill a small hole to put the screws in.

The hole you drill should be smaller than the screw in width, probably half as wide is good. When you have a pilot hole, the screw will go in straight, and not damage the wood as much. If you don't use a pilot hole, the screw could split the wood, or go in crooked.

Get some shorter screws too, those look dangerous. :O
