Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat has died after slipping into a coma on Wednesday at a French military hospital.

Yasser Arafat, the 75 year-old Palestinian leader, was determined to be clinically dead in a French military hospital. Arafat was being treated there for an unknown illness.
The frail head of the Palestinian Authority arrived in Paris last week after losing consciousness briefly at his West Bank headquarters. Arafat was at first said to have been suffering from a severe case of influenza, but was later diagnosed as having blood abnormalities and trouble with digestion.
Palestinian officials then ran tests for leukemia but the cancer was ruled out, and doctors remained uncertain what was causing his illness. Arafat's condition worsened three days ago and he slipped into a coma on Wednesday.

What does anyone have to say about the events that will take place in attempts to reestablish peace talks with Israel, and does anyone have any idea who will take his place as PM???

Woot woot! I'm just glad he's dead. The world's a prettier a place without his ugly ass mug.

Craaaaap. All these factors combining right now aren't lookin' to good for the world. Now they're going to be struggling to find a mutually satisfying leader since Arafat did not specify one. Hoping that this doesn't bring more unrest to the middle east! Oy!

I've been paying a good bit of attention to the middle east lately, not simply looking at Iraq. Between Arafat's death concern about weapons in Iran, and nuclear capabilities not to mention that a man named Walid Jumblatt seems to be on the verge of separating Lebanon into two countries it's very possible that this is all pre-tribulation actions that have been prophecied in revelations. In our history there has never been so much upheaval in the middle east, and all of these things can be read about on this website: http://www.frankcaw.com/. This is not the only place where this info can be found, but it's the most thorough. It's a scary time, especially if you read the thread I started about the conditions of America and our current President: http://www.mattersofsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13980

I dont care about his death, I never liked him....perhaps Israel and Palestine can finally come to somesort of arrangement.

Yeah good riddance, I don't know about you but I cant really think of anything good he has done while leader. Hes been an impotent figurehead for years.

Sadly I don't think peace will ever come between Muslims and Jews in the near future, there is just too much hate. Hopefully somewhere down the line these people will let the past stay in the past and try to move forward as human beings not as Muslim/Jew or whatever.

The Middle East has been a boiling pot since before the time of Christ and nothing has changed. First they fought with the Egyptians. Then the Romans. Then the Christians. Any culture they come into contact with has some kind of conflict with some faction or region in that area. Is it the end of time? I don't know. Will the aggression ever cease? Probably not. I just wish we'd bring our troops home and let them go back to fighting each other instead of us, but I guess that oil is pretty valuable...

You can always look to scripture to understand the dispute between islam and christianity. Abraham had two sons Isaac and IsHydromaxael, he is the father of both Islam and the line of Christ. Isaac was the chosen son, and it all comes from that relationship. It's a really interesting topic to look into if anyone likes geneology and historic events that originate from blood feuds. Anyway, the tension in the middle east is greater now than anytime in history, and according to the Word it's only going to get worse. Pay attention to a man named Walid Jamblatt, from what is going around in the nation of Lebanon he is very unhappy with the structure of the government and is contemplating forming his own government within the borders of Lebanon, which is prophecied about in Scripture. Very interesting things seem to be just on the horizon, and that may mean two week, months or years, who knows, but that's what is written in the Word.
