Wow, I got pit tickets to NIN! I don't know what to think.

I got a pit ticket to the NIN show here in Pittsburgh this summer. I don't know what to say. It's cool as hell, because I've never been anywhere near that close for a show, but I'm kinda apprehensive too. I bet that pit can get pretty intense for a show like this. If I was 20 years old, I'd be on cloud nine, but I'm 31 with damaged knees and don't really want to get banged around too much. Anyone have any advice? I talked to my friend earlier today and he figures on us just hanging out in the back part of the pit.

Yeah, having pit tickets doesnt mean youll have to be in a pit circle type deal. Just dont try to get too close to the stage cuz then you will be involved somehow. You can kinda hang to the back/sides of the circle and be fine. Ive been to tons of shows, I dont necessarily mind the pits but there are times when I don't feel up to it, so I stay to the back or side. I was pressed up against the stage for an Anthrax show one time, back and chest were sore for days!

If all else fails just remember it only takes 14.5 lbs of pressure to remove the human ear. So after snatching one in each hand just speak very matter of factly in a soft voice: "Excuse me gentlemen but I have bad knees would appreciate you giving me some space". Works for me.rofl Let us know how it goes. Nin has always been one of my all time favorites. I'm going through a very tough time right now and have been listening to "With Teeth" over and over. I find it rather theraputic.

Wow, I did not know that, but I suppose when you think about it, an ear should rip relatively easily. Thanks for the tidbit that hopefully I'll never have to use.

I'm going through a very tough time right now and have been listening to "With Teeth" over and over. I find it rather theraputic.

I have With Teeth but I haven't listened to it completely and heard every track. I can relate to the tough time part. I don't know what you're going through, but I feel depressed about my job situation/outlook and have no idea exactly where to turn (but I must keep looking).

The show was pretty kickass!!! :rocker:

I was pretty much right in the middle of the pit, but the pit crowd was more subdued than I figured they would be. I had a couple of people bang into me, I banged into a few, and I helped a couple off the floor, but I was never really in any fear of being injured at all.

I had heard horror stories about pits that were out of control and I figured NIN would be just about as bad as any, but it was pretty cool.
