Work At Home

In frustration I want to ask a question of you guys. but first I will explain why.

I have far too many job responcibilities to keep everything done. I am responsible for maintaining his company properties. This year I have built 2 shipping officies and a quality control lab plus a 2 story computer lab. In addition to this I am required to maintain 7 houses that he owns, plus a hunting lodge that is 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. The damn dining room i n the bitch is larger than some regular sized homes. The hunting lodge in itsself would be a fulltime job. Plus the boss is opening another plant in Texas and I will have to go for several months to keep him from bitchin. ANd, last week he bought another huge warehouse that will need some work. This warehouse is about the size of 4 walmart super-centers.

I do not have any help to keep all this shit up. I got cursed like a dog for taking off one extra day when mom died this spring. I am at the "last straw" state with this job.

Now for the question.

Do any of you guys know of any legimate on-line jobs that are not complete rip-offs. Or, if you have tried something and it did not pan out then maybe we can all share ideas as I know for a fact that some others here are seriously looking as well.

I tried free store club after receiving a million e-mails from them. For me it did not work. It probably could if you could invest 10 plus hours a week and a few hundred dollars a month extra to invest in it. LOL "extra" is not even in my dictionary.

If you have any ideas I am open to anything that is honest and legal.

Thanks for your time and help in advance.

The closest thing you will easily find is MLM. MLM has a lot of shitty companies that really give it a bad reputation, but there is nothing necessarily wrong with the business concept. You just really have to do your homework.

I had better than average success with my last MLM company (I've tried two), but still not enough to support myself full-time. I have gotten many great marketing ideas since then and I am seriously considering giving it another go with a couple of things I'm looking at.

Other than that, you can start an at-home business. I'm working on that one too. However, I'm not talking stuffing envelopes or any such thing, but a legitimate business. Anything you find in the "opportunity" sections will not necessarily have to be an outright scam, but there is almost always a catch. "Results not typical" always seems to apply whether or not it's in the fine print. I don't know if anyone has seen the Smoke Away herbal program that is supposed to help you quit smoking in 7 days, but I was a distributor for that product a few years back. They sent me a brochure with a boat and Ferrari on it talking about how much you could make, given their commission scale. But those results would have been damn near impossible to obtain. They were using a 10% purchase ratio, so if I put out 50 brochures, it would be 5 sales. However, when I talked to them on the phone at a later date, they explained that they had seen as much as a 10% response, but 1%-2% was much more typical. At the end of the day, I made an extra $150 or so per month, which was okay while I was in college, but it never could have produced full-time income and I gave it up entirely when they began advertisting on TV and radio.

Your going to have to either find a little spare time or spend some considerable money to get any kind of home business going. You can't expect to devote no time and produce income or gain clientele. However, with the right marketing campaign, you can do a great amount of the work by direct mail or other advertising. Maybe that's the way to go. I hope you're paid well for the shit you go through.

What are you good at? What would you like to do? PM me and maybe I'll have some ideas to help. I also have some very good marketing resources to where we might even be able to work something out if you come up with something that will move.

Thanks for the input bro. I do not mind spending the time or a little cash . What I can not afford is like the last one where i spent the hours and some monies for almost a year and never made a dime in return. No more of that foolishness for me. I'll send ya a p, later today.. Now its off to the slave mill. My boss must not be reading the papers or he would realize that slavery has been over for some time now.

No he just a gready SOB!!!
Tell him off!!! Be nice about it but tell him there is only 168 hours a week you need 8 of those to sleep and he is wanting 320 hours of work done a week he should hire more help!

yeah, i'd flat out tell the mofo how I feel about it. "give me a raise and some time off, or you can shove this job up your ass!" unless your getting paid good, then I'd have to take out the first part.

Hey C-Guy, what is your trade, or do you have a trade? The reason I ask is that you should start your business, doing what you are doing now. I would tell your boss to piss up a rope. You seem to be quite an intelligent fellow. And from what I read between the lines of your thread you are doing more than is humanly impossible.

You can do the same thing and hire others to do the work that you now do. All you have to do is train them and then coordinate the work.

I am a carpenter. If something can be made from wood , I can build it. In fact when I built the lodge for him I didn't even have a set of blueprints. He just drew on a 8x11 sheet od paper and thats all i had to go by.

I really need to get away from the physical aspect of construction. As many of you are aware I have some major health problems. If I am to live I have to find something way less stressful. The doc. chewed me out last week my blood pressure was so out of control.

I would definately like to have a small woodworking shop just to make craft style stuff.

I understand that I have to get away from him or else.....Not worth losing your life over. Very hard to change jobs when you have this kind of blood pressure problem. You are considered a high risk, so its not that easy just to tell him to piss off, until I have something else in the bag.

What a greedy motherfucker! Bitchslap his ugly ass all the way to mars!

In this speed your working in, it's seriously not good for you. The stress would be out of this world. Does that boss of yours don't listen to you at all?

Carpentry is a good skill. What else are your skills or interests?

I am an excellent cook. Always wanted to own my owm restaraunt. But then again that would be very stressfull especially the first year.

I have a green thumb. I can root a pencil and make the damn thing grown again. JK. But seriously very successful at rooting plants. Currently thats my "escape) getting outside and creating a scene with plants..

I think my main problem is that I am a perfectionist. Thats the main reason i guess the boss gives me soooooo much to do. He knows that i will do whatever the task till its right. I guess thats the reason I want to try some type of online business for a while. I am the type that can not easily accept defeat. Hell look back at my posts for the last year and a half. Twice I was told that I probably had cancer, Have been told repeatedly that i am goin to have a massive stroke. Last week I was told that it would be a stroke or massive heartattack. Sanded a finger to the bone and had to be very creative to do pe but did it nevertheless. Too many other bad things to even mention here but I refuse to give up or give in. Right now I just need a different avanue to channell this curse of perfectionism in (if that makes sense).

Now for those who like revenge.. The boss fell this morning at work. Landed flat on his face. Banged him up pretty good , fractured nose and all. Guess who they came to first to go help him get up? You got it me. Time I got there tho he was already up. Thank God . Imagine picking up a 300 plus pound man who is 75 years old. Not even going there.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Working from home would just be absolutely great man, I'd love to do this myself but I have no idea what I could do.

May I suggest that you advertise your skills, but instead of doing the actual job, offer to make drawings of new homes, or better still renovate new or older homes. Then once you have a few jobs, hire good skilled carpenters to do the job and pay them 1 1/4 as much $ to complete the job on time, and supervise the complete job. What you have make sure of is that crew you hire is supervised by a good Forman. This way you can demand top price for the jobs and not be afraid of any comebacks. Also you may want to consider trying to find a financial backer to provide seed money to start a wood working shop. You could start making toys for Xmas gifts. You could concentrate on specialty items.

Good luck old son

Starting your own remolding type buisness is a kickass idea.
Maybe you could also write some freelance articles about carpentry and crafts for magazines.

You could make DLD's power stretcher. If you could produce enough of them, you guys might be able to make enough money to last until you can find a job with reasonable hours. Im pretty sure he needs someone to do it still.

I'm still collecting thoughts on this one, but I think jakb has a decent idea with the [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]Power Assist[/words]. I mean, it ain't retirement money, but it would be a start that could lead to other things.
