I found a bunch of articles online about when the pros started using steroids.
btw, they publicly admitted these ages

Kenny Flex Wheeler - 19
Lee Priest - 19
Arnold Schwarzenegger- 18
Aaron Henry - 13

Rick wayne, a former bodybuilding champion who trained with Arnold, says that arnold admitted to him he started taking steroids at age 13.
 
Interesting... a couple of things to consider is that back in the 70's, steroids were legal and we simply didn't know enough about how they worked. The average bodybuilder today probably knows more about steroids and their effects on the body than most bodybuilders in the 70's and 80's. Arnold admitted to taking dbol like it was candy... no would do that today for good reason.
