Webcam surveillance software?

Hey guys. Basically I think somebody has been getting into my room while I'm at work or college because lately I've notived random things missing like certain cds, video games, and ummmm.... adult entertainment material. Anyways My laptop is sitting on my desk and it has a webcam built into the frame but it blends in perfectly and most people wouldn't notice it without a second glance.

So does anybody know of some software that I could put on it that will make it look like it is off but really the webcam turns on and starts recording when it detects motion?

Thanks guys.

I really doubt there is a software application that would work that way, as there needs to be some physical apparatus besides software to actually and set it to take a low quality picture every 25 seconds or so, then watch the frames together at a high speed, much like a regular security cam, but that would involve leaving the camera application open and visible, and also setting the computer to not fall asleep at all, which would be fairly obvious to anybody in the room.

You might want to look at just getting a lock for your door rather than wasting time with some sort of elaborate surveilling setup.

I found a couple programs that do that but they are all like $170+. As for the lock, good idea yet someone got around that already. I think I have a good suspicion on who it is however. This is what you get when you hang out with the wrong crowd. lol.

Oops, somehow the middles of my post got deleted before I posted it. No matter though, sounds like you have it figured out. When I was a student a guy in my frat kept getting into my shit. He was a senior and I was a sophomore so I couldn't really come down to hard on him, but eventually I did just call him out on it in front of a lot of people which sufficiently embarassed him so as to stop the behavior.
