FYI. I recommend using paper towels to take off the PJ before you wash your hands. Too much going down the drain can clog sink pipes.

Yes, paper towels are good to use prior to even washing anything. They will soak up a large part of the oils and soap and water will deal withe the rest.

As a matter of fact, I remember back in the day, when I was wet jelqing, not cleaning up too good and every pair of pants I owned were ruined! Today I am EXTREMELY clean.
