TORSION TESTICULAR AGUDA

Twisting is most common in children under 25 (1/4000 males) but can occur at any age. They manifest as a sharp and intense testicular pain, often accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

If the diagnosis is confirmed by doppler examination and ultrasound, and the torsion is not reversed by manual manoeuvres, urgent surgical intervention is required. A delay of more than 6 hours in the detorsion may lead to the loss of the testicle.

This is a subject that has come up a few times and I’m glad you’re addressing it. There were three or four different people that had this issue and I hope they get involved with this thread.
