Question about how to clean ROP and where I bought tubing

First of all I want people to know that I just bought 10 feet of latex tubing at Home Depot here in Canada for $15. Just wanted to pass on that info. I'm so fucking stoked cuz I haven't worn my ROP in over a month! Well I'd be even happier if my finger wasn't hurting but hey that's what you get for "testing" out the mouse traps LOL!

Secondly, I hear people using steel wool to clean their ROPs but won't that scratch the metals especially the copper? What I do is use a sponge and some Cameo(metal polishing powder) and the things turn out as good as new! Would using cameo have any negative effects on the ROP?

Thirdly, I came close to buying a volt meter but I'm curious...how do you measure the voltage of the ROP? Do you put it on and then put the probes on the Zinc and Copper?

I dunno, but I highly recommend the steel wool. It won't scratch up your metal rods. Just cleans em up real nice. I don't recommend using chemicals on em, other than water and maybe some regular hand soap.

And yes, that would be how to measure the voltage.

The rods are pretty much pure so a few scratches wont matter, it would take a year of constant scratching to significantly wear them down

If you clean the ROP every 3 days with steel wool until the metal has a renewed shine, that takes about 5 minutes of rubbing. The metal on your ROP will last several lifetimes before you could possibly rub enough off. You can leave your ROP to your grandson and it will still be perfectly functional.

Thanks for the replies guys! Atleast now I'm not worried about destroying my ROP but still it seems like a lot of work. The Cameo I use is specifically used for cleaning the oxidation of copper. I put some on and the oxidation practically disolves on it's own so little effort is needed to clean it. I'll probably keep doing that cuz I know it works. I'll even try to get some before and after pics so you guys will be amazed!
