Might be a stupid question but I was just wondering if pumping with a flaccid penis would be beneficial? Like would it help me hang lower when I'm soft as well giving me gains while erect?

It will definitely help with your flaccid length and heaviness. It’s also a wonderful way to warm up. And in the same way it’s a great way to warm down.

I have always found that it makes zero difference if you enter a pump flaccid or erect regardless of the type of pump used.
The reason is very simple. A penis pump, water or air based creates suction which draws blood into the penis causing it to become erect.
You can withdraw from the pump and repeat this process for as many reps as you're comfortable using and for what ever duration you perform those reps.
You will always reach your maximum length inside the cylinder as well as girth.
This can be further magnified by performing slow squashed jelqs in between reps.
