Post Op Care for Ligament Surgery

I was wondering if anyone had any information on post op care of a ligament cut. Specifically;

- how long after the surgery should you start hanging, when is it safe to start? Is there anyone with experience?
- if you have a fat injection aswell, should you use a light hanger weight from the glands?

Any information from someone with experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hanging/traction devices are usually part of the whole procedure after surgery. In that case the doctor in charge would be the most indicated person to make those questions. I wouldn't experiment myself after a surgery, and since at least I dont have that knowledge of medicine I couldnt give you advice either.

Maybe somebody here who already had one of those surgeries could share his experiences.

thank you, my doctor said not to hang and he doesn't recommend it etc after the surgery, but I've been doing research about this surgery for almost 10 years and as you said hanging seams to be an essential part of the post op work. This may be a new technique. The surgeon is quite respected and provides the most up to date method, a small 1 inch incision etc. I understand they worry about safety for the patient foremost.

thank you for your reply, much appreciated.

Yes my thoughts were the same. Perhaps they recommend not to in order to avoid any liability or post op injuries. Im sorry, I wish I could give you more insight.

Perhaps in a cosmetic surgery forums you could find a specific forum for this type? I am sure all the community that has had this surgery HAS to hang out somewhere online with all these questions.
