I was just watching this episode on Sex And The City named "No Ifs Ands or butts" about one of the girls sleeping with a black guy for the first time.

This show came out in the late 90's/early 00's, wow.
How long has the stereotype existed for?

I thought the myth started becoming popular now because of the whole adult entertainment thing.

In such case I'm painfully reminded that I'm not 20 anymore (tho I'm only 32 myself, but sometimes it feels as if aeons passed). For you guys it might come as a surprise but adult entertainment existed already before the 2000s. The stereotype did as well, of course. In fact the adult entertainment industry just capitalized on this cliché that even existed long before adult entertainment came up in the 70s.

Actually I saw a 70s adult entertainment today "Taboo" and most actors, including black men were in the average or slightly above average category. If you look at most black adult entertainment stars or monster black dick adult entertainment its usually the same 10 stars in each one. So society & adult entertainment have continued it. I no longer believe in it because I've seen alot of dicks, not gay but used to be a wrestler. Its the same across the board between races for the most part.

Generally one could say that the myth of blacks (men and women) being overly fertile has been around for a long time. Surely the adult entertainment industry (especially in the last 15-20 years or so) exaggerated it in a very one-dimensional way to the extreme. But it hasn't been invented by it.
