Is Orginality Dead?

With movies such as Batman, Spiderman, The Hulk,The A-Team & Fantastic Four and the list goes on & on, I can't remember the last time I seen a movie that was a orginal idea. And all of the cash cow Disney movies are repeats of shows or movies they already exist.

Music for years has been a repeat of the same lyrics, yet we call musicians artist. I fully understand making quality music is no easy task but creative material is hard to find these days.

We all have been viewers of same TV shows. And we have become mindless zombies to shows like Jersey Shore or Flavor of Love, Entertaining but this is how far we have slipped away from original material.

We have people becoming "Famous for being famous" from show like these. Though these people have no particular talent.

I know there are so many creative people in this world. Maybe they aren't given the chance to have their voices or ideas heard.

I guess my question is orginality dead?

I don't think it's dead, just buried alive under all of the crushing bullshit that the huge, dinosauric, bloated monster/machine known as modern popular commercialism shoves in our faces and up our asses in an effort to keep itself alive. I try to think small, local and as off-beat as I can; I try to look for things I've never seen or heard of before, and explore from there. When it comes to open doors, I prefer the ones with the shortest lines....

Or none at all.
