I'm going to start running a campaign

Hey guys!

It has been off and on for a while that I have been posting here, I have been a busy beaver working my tail off trying to get things rolling. I don't know if this is the right section to do this in, if i should even do it at all. so i apologize for it ahead of time if it's wrong. just thought i would give it a shot!

i am an artist, and i have been working on a project with a friend of mine that really means something to the both of us. My boy lost a friend who was also a Marine, he served two tours in iraq and ended up loosing his life to a motorcycle accident. this was a huge huge blow for my friend, and we decided to honor him in a way that he would have loved. not only was he a marine but he was also a comic book geek. So we chose to make a comic book based off of him. He is going to be a single man that is chosen by the fates to bring down the all mighty greek gods, including zeus himself! ( i know it sounds somewhat like god of war..well exactly like it...but it's not). there are aspects of the story that makes it new, even though the tale itself was told hundreds of times over hundreds of years.

we are broke as jokes, no lie. so we're going to be launching a crowd funding campaign to get this off the ground. i wanted to spread the word as much as possible so we can make sure that this book is released and the story is told. the funding isn't going to start right now, but it is soon. we just need to fine tune some things before we set it up and running. this money would go towards printing, distribution, equipment to get things pumped out in a timely manner, as well as just basic living expenses for us to get the job done! got bills to pay and i got mouths to feed, and have to make sure i can get paid while doing this. We will be giving away prizes, such as shirts, posters, limited edition signed copies of the books, even a role in the book itself!

again i'm sorry if this is a no no, but again..i wanted to get it out there.

Thank you guys for the support! and i'm sorry for the late replies here, for some reason my email isn't notifying me right away when someone replies to threads....weird

but anyway. my buddy and i are getting things wrapped up, we have to make a video and get all the final stuff looking presentable. i want this thing up and running my mid june, i would have 3 months to raise the money. it's going to be 5,500 for the goal..that would include a drawing tablet for me to actually get the work done much much MUCH quicker for quality and distribution..publishing online, publishing in print and mainly so i can afford to take the time out and draw up the 79 pages (a page a day, or every other) while not having to worry about paying bills. the 5,500 seems like a lot but every dollar will count! and no matter what we would appreciate blazing the hell out of it up on facebooks or twitter or whatever else. just spreading the word! make that shit go viral! it's a pretty badass story and it must be told. and hopefully we'll get more than we ask for and be able to start up the second part!

Hey guys!

since the last message i left on here i have been dealing with some issues, namely worring about my job and ultimately losing it (the store closed down and no option for a transfer) and fighting the depression that followed. i am feeling very very unmotivated, but i'm trying to pick myself up and rebound for not only my art but ultimately for my family. my other employees and i were preparing for this mentally, however they seemed to all get a transfer...i have my own theories as to WHY..but this whole thing will end up 2 pages long as one big rant like crazy.

i also have been stuck in a catch 22 when it comes to how to promote the project, i'm not ashamed of Penis Enlargement in any way shape or form believe me, it's the fact that i might be heading not only towards an art job, but also a potential teaching job. students i taught recently admitted to googling me and finding my youtube and other things, and if word got around to the parents about me on here then it might cause issues. does that mean i'm going to stop coming on here? no. you guys seem to be so willing to help, all i had to do was mention it and you guys were 110% behind me. that means to me more than you guys understand and gives me hope that i might actually be able to do this! but again, giving out my contact info openly on the pages will make it easier for parents to notice...so i thought of this

if you guys want to help out, send me a private message and i will probably thank you 10,000 times and give you a link to my youtube and pro Facebook. i do not have a promotional video up yet for the project, however it will happen! as most of you know, depression is a huge huge obstacle, but it'll get better once i take the steps to get this going! If you guys do choose to help me and my friend out with this project, i DO ask you to use my real name if you message me on my timeline or youtube. it is not sam, so don't be fooled when the different name pops up!

THANK YOU for the support and interest! I can see that we had a lot of hits on this thread and if HALF of the people donate just one dollar (which i think i will make an option for) then this book will be more than up and running and might even have enough to start the next installment!

first the campain needs to run though so i can do the book and then bring it to print. which is why i'm bugging the hell out of you guys. i never thought of putting it up as a pdf though. would that mean they can read it online as well?
 
Ok guys! Here is the first step of my campaign. I found that this is much much harder with everything that has been going on lately and I have been trying to get this tool for many many years. speeds up production by almost 300% and i can make this comic happen faster than ever! It's an all or nothing thing, so every bit helps and if you just spread the word that also helps too! I'm not above begging right now, I do need some major help to get my stuff up to the next level and compete with the bigger dogs. Get some exclusive content, bonuses, collectors stuff and more! by the way, do not freak out if you see a different name, my name is not sam. THANKS FOR THE HELP. again, if you can't pay or don't want to, please just spread the word. you guys are helping out so much, and i am already grateful beyond words.

Hello Gentlemen!

Well at long last this is the comic campaign that i was originally speaking of when i started this thread. It does hold a very personal meaning for the writer and I. Like I stated before it is a friend of my writers who was a marine and served two tours in iraq. When he came back on leave he ended up dying in a motorcycle accident. Seeing how he was not only a hero, he was also everything that was geek, and was big into comics, we created a comic and super hero that we know he would have loved. So after years of it being in the works, we're not starting up a campaign to get it published and shared with the world.

Check out the video, hear and read the story, and help us remember him in a way that is both unique and ultimately very very cool. We are asking for a set amount of money for basic costs for the book. We're giving away rewards for your donations from credits, to comics, to even joining us at a comic con. The big thing, is that once that goal is met, we'll donate a percentage to a charity in remembrance of him and honoring the soldiers who serve or have served. Like i said, check it out, watch the 3 minute video and we appreciate the help!


and as a side note my name is not really sam, so don't freak when you see a different name in the credits
