Paruresis is the clinical name for being pee shy. It appears to be a form of social phobia. Using a urinal in a crowded public washroom can be impossible for me. Or if someone is watching, even listening sometimes. It really sucks, alot!! Sometimes it does'nt bother me so much, but it never really leaves.
Does anyone else suffer this to any degree? Rate yourself from 1-10 on how "pee shy" you are. A number one can whip it out anytime, anywhere, in front of anyone to take a piss. A number 10 can only piss alone at home.

Fortunate to say I've never really had any trouble with my bladder not cooperating. I can see how this could be a very annoying thing to deal with on a regular basis. Perhaps practicing some kind of "trigger" such as counting down from three and then relxing yourself every time you urinate could help.

I try to make it a non issue and focus on releasing the anxiety. Sometimes it helps, but other times it just confirms that the problem exists and makes me more uptight. I have a real problem with creating situations that don't exist anywhere but in my head. Its frustrating when you know where a problem has developed from but it is so imprinted into your subconscious that it is almost impossible to over ride it.

I used to be a 9-10,i work in a big factory and you have set break times but the toilets only have 3 urinals and are all close to each other.I could be busting to pee but once i got in the toilets if someone else was there then it used to refuse to come out,it makes it more embarising when a guy next to you has been and finished and your still there holding your dick.
