how early can you detect pregnancy?

any docs in here know how long it takes for a doctor to find out if a girl is pregnant? my ex was gone thursday - tuesday, she would have had to gotten pregnant one of those days, i believe it was sunday she did..and then she got home yesterday and told me today that she "got tested by a doc" and found out she was pregnant. i believe this is all bullshit, but i'm trying to get my facts straight.
