how do you get a avatar to work

i tried to make one the other day and it said it was to big can any one help me?

Needs to be a jpg or gif file, no bigger than 100 pixels by 100 pixels, with a maximum filesize of about 80kb (last bit off the top of my head).
Whats the exact problem?

Anyway, anyone happen to know whose avatar is it of the little red riding hood? I remember seeing it here but forgot who got it. It seems cute lol and i would like to have a copy of it.
