How do you convert cassettes to CDs?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone here has any idea how I could convert some cassette tapes with lectures/seminars onto CDs or MP3s so I could burn CDs to listen to on my commute?

I have both a Mac G4 with OSX Panther and a Sony Vaio with Windows XP Media Edition, if that helps, though I'm pretty damn computer illiterate with both of them.

plug a cassette player into the line input on ur sound card and record it, with XP u can use "sound recorder" its part of windows, that will be in wav file u can burn them to cd or convert them to mp3 with something like AudioCatalyst or mpegdj.

I was told Windows sound recorder only had a recording time of about one minute, not nearly enough for a cassette duplication. Have you used this method successfully?
