Has anyone here not been able to log in to mos over the past year?

Besides a password issue, were any of you consistently unable to login to mos over the last year or were you just busy doing other things?

Yes, I was unable to log in for months but I also didn't save my password. If I had it I may have been able to log in but I also tried registering as a new member but that didn't work either.

I heard the same from many others. This is why they have started with a new name. If you see this please try your user/pass again as they are working now.

This way you don’t lose all your old posts

Yes, I was unable to log in for months but I also didn't save my password. If I had it I may have been able to log in but I also tried registering as a new member but that didn't work either.

Thanks for the reply. We had Spam-O-Matic installed on our old version of vBulletin that was preventing new registrations as DLD discovered after 7 months. The spam software was preventing many robot spam attacks and then eventually stoped new registrations as the company stopped supporting their software. (drunk)

However a few of us were still able to log-in and post daily but many others were gone.
I'm now wondering how many more people lost their password and couldn't re-register.

vBulletin really sucks and they are really bad with support and updates.

Good thing DLD found the mistake as it led us to completely get rid of vBulletin which was a blessing! (rocking)(clap)(monkey)

I just hope people come back that have tried and failed to login. We lost so many members because of this.

You should be able to use your old account, what was your username and I will set up a temporary password

Even though we sadly lost allot of members from this big fuck up which was pretty much my fault as I should of been more active on the forums daily as I am now,

However, I'm happy our database never got corrupted and lost all of our posts and members. At least we made sure that part of mos was always secure with multiple remote databases during all the attacks we had throughout the years. That would of been the end of mos as we knew it.

I would not worry about it old people are coming back every day. Now they’re able to come back and login with their real names. And the forms are so beautiful they will be blown away and really want to stay. Like I keep telling people, don’t be annoyed, but I’m going to be bumping threads. It’s got to be this way until more members come back. It’s already getting extremely busy again so I reckon we should be back on track within a couple months. And we should be able to grow from there since everything is up-to-date now.

I spoke to a few members that swore they registered with a certain email or username to later learn that after I looked up their username/email that they registered with an email they forgot about or used a username they forgot.

Allot of members might of used an email that they set up just for mos for privacy issues. If this is the case with anyone, we can still retrieve your old account. Just message me your username you had or email you think you used and I can pull up your old membership so you don't have to start over.

I can even merge all your posts from a newer account, to your old account.

I would do a couple of mailing to let all the old people know we are open and running. I know you have already have done this but maybe try again and maybe again next month. If you can get them here to see the new forum they will stay.
