prince Albert said:If you want to increase the risk of getting your partner pregnant i would buy some ovulation prediction kits, they tell you exactly when the women is fertile which is only for a few days of her cycle,we used these when trying for our little boy as my wife took her miscarrige pretty bad,she feel the second month of trying.
Pandora said:I'm not sure probably because i have not gotten her pregnant yet.
Plus i have had problems with my sperm volume before.
prince Albert said:How long have you been trying pan? took us 9 months of trying twice a day for our first daughter.
medisave.co.uk used to sell ovulation test kits fairly cheap compared to places like boots.

ivan said:You'll get there! I didn't even try so no pressure. Five kids and two miscarriages later I figure that I must be fertile! If you pressure yourself into time considerations then you won't perform. Luckily most of the population manage to reproduce easily, those that don't, do now have a few options!

PS .... Never had sex as good as when she was pregnant! rofl
Python said:If you're having trouble conceiving, you should get your sperm count tested. You can buy an over the counter male fertility test kit at most major pharmacies. It's usually on the same shelf as the ovulation test kits.
Another thing that men should avoid while trying to conceive is anything that will heat your balls, such as hot tubs, or even just hot wraps around your penis. Heating the testicles is known to significantly reduce sperm count.
Python said:An infrared lamp would probably be just as bad as the other methods of warming up unless you could somehow insulate your balls from the heat source. Covering them with foil might work. Give it a try and let us know.
Another possibility is to use a cool (not cold) wrap around your scrotum to insulate it from a heat wrap (or IR lamp) on the penis.
You are correct that the OTC male fertility test kits are not very accurate. They also don't check for motility, which is important for fertility. They basically provide a test strip that allows you to compare the color from your sample against a reference to get a rough idea of what your sperm count is.
If the test clearly shows a high sperm count, then you're probably OK and you've saved yourself from a couple of doctor's visits and lab tests. But if it indicates a borderline or low count, then you should visit a doctor to get an actual lab analysis done.
