Flaxseed oil

Any opinions/ facts/ experiences with this stuff? I have heard of the benefits of it and I now take 2000 mg of it in pill form a day... Is that enough to benefit from it?

The pill i take has:
alpha linolenic acid (omega 3): 575 mg
linoleic acid (omega 6): 154 mg
oleic acid (omega 9): 186 mg

As i said I take 2 of these a day- one after breakfast and one after lunch. I also eat a can of tuna daily so I am getting some omega vitamins aside from the flaxseed also.

Flaxseed oil is good but flax seeds are better as they contain lignans that offer other benefits. That said, for overall health flax is a poor substitute for fish oil as flax will not elevate long chain omega-3's, such as DHA and EPA, to any extent.

So this flaxseed oil is ok, but fish oil is a lot better is what im hearing here.. correct?

The reason i went with the flaxseed oil is because I had been takin fish oil pills for a bit and had to stop because everytime I took them I would burp up a horrible fish taste that would stick to the back of my throat- not something I was willing to deal with no matter how good it was for me.

Like i said i do eat a tin of tuna a day, and take two of these pills- I ask again though- is this going to be enough to benifit me in the omega department? Should I take more of the pills daily? Does it even matter?

Edit: By the way, thanks for the info guys- as always the members here are quite helpful and generous with their knowlege... just keep it coming. :)
