This May 26 is the 20th anniversary of the FDA’s disastrous decision to deny consumers the right to know whether their food has been genetically engineered or not. On this day, ex-Monsanto lawyer Michael Taylor (the current FDA Deputy Commissioner for Foods) declared that genetically modified food was “substantially equivalent” to naturally grown food, and therefore should not be subject to any additional regulations.
Between now and May 26, the Right to Know Campaign is attempting to raise a one million dollar money bomb to support the California GE Foods Act and other state GMO-labeling campaigns.

A group of “Right to Know” public interest organizations and organic companies, have pledged to match the first million dollars raised in this nationwide “Drop the Money Bomb on Monsanto” campaign. They include:

Seriously? I just saw that browned potatoes put off a chemical known by the state of California to cause cancer.

Corn has been genetically modified since its creation. Granted it was done very low tech but still modified.

Here is an idea. Instead of punishing the entire country why not let the very few people that actually care shop to find the foods that are not altered. I don't need to pay double the cost because of more red tape just to eat something because the government calls it safe

just another reason why China is growing and getting richer while the usa is being run into the ground. Soon the state of California will figure out toilet paper gives you cancer and they will ban that to!

Here is what i understand.

I don't need the government telling me what to eat where to sleep and what to do when. Bayer medical planted some genetically altered rice to close to "normal rice" a few years back. They had to destroy alot of product. Now the farmer is at a huge loss until Bayer settled several years later. That is not good for anyone.

While the government ties back the hands of farmers and industry in our country China continues to grow and flourish under little to no regulations. What about all the product that is imported? Well i can tell you right now. Its nother any where close to fda standard and is made in a factory that would make the epa stroke out. The people also make next to nothing and work like dogs.

So ya keep putting regulations on everything. Soon the farmers won't be able to grow anything and we will have to import soy from Brazil....and IM SURE THEY ONLY USE THE PROPenis EnlargementR FDA methods in Brazil

No, this entire issue is about your right, as a consumer of a product, to be informed as to what the "manufacturer" of this food product has placed into the food. As it stands now; Monsanto can, and does, shovel incredible amounts of potentially devastating Genetically Modified Organisms (the full effects of which we don't even begin to understand) into your body; and you don't merit the right to be informed enough to avoid them.

You're not a customer-you're an experiment and only Monsanto reaps the benefits.
