There is a company called CoolSculpting using a fat-freezing procedure is the only FDA-cleared,* non-surgical fat-reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat that resists all efforts through diet and exercise. The results are proven, noticeable, and lasting—so I decided to dig deeper into this and find more details on temperature and time per session. I will be the guinnea pig unless someone care to join when I figure out the specifics. If this work with the success it does with all other problem areas of the body it should work on the fat pad.

Of course we do not want to spend money on the real system but what we can do is mimic it for a lot less. The details I need specifics on is temperature, length of time per session, how long it should me done, what results to expect and if it will truly work on the fat pad, if so this is a great discovery.

The picture shows what the results are for a woman after 9 weeks and it is very impressive. We all have longed for a solution, let us pray this pans out to be something that works. I will post specifics tomorrow getting tired tonight.

Always been at the cutting edge

I really hope so because it definitely works on other parts of the body as I have been studying it for a little while. I’m going to start testing it today or tomorrow and see if it has any effect on my fat pad.

Sounds good. Have you been able to try it?

Not yet I’m still looking into how long I should do it and what warning signs I should look out for is far as tissue concerned. Professionally they have a machine that does it for them and it is very expensive but it’s nothing more than a cooling device with electronics to shut it off and turn it on at certain intervals to avoid tissue damage. I have a pretty big fat pad right now I would be very good As a tester so I will do that ASAP

LOL if you’re brave enough go ahead and check for me LOL I’m going to the store today to see what I can find that will give the variations in temperature. I’m not even sure if that exists belong to check for that first. If that doesn’t pan out then I’ll use the cold packs. I just worry about tissue damage

One could take ice baths, they should be available in spas. Other is dipping in an icy lake by Winter time.

I recall that short durations within several days can start the process; the cold will turn fat into brown fat or something. Just quick memory and short summary, the cold process "transforms" the fat to "brown fat" which is healthier and keeps you warmer. It's a common misconception that fatter people would always be warmer, it also depends on what kind of fat it is.

If using cold packs, I think it's mostly about wrapping up either the pack or the area being manipulated. One should feel the cold, but not excessive bite.

By the way, I haven't watched that video ... The still photo creeps me out, that moustache is a red flag for me. :-D Weird, as I do have facial hair myself ...

LMFAO ?(movember)

I've heard of this. It would be interesting to see what kind of feedback we get if anyone here decides to use this method.

Still, the benefits of losing body fat the hard way imparts a level of fitness and EQ which can't be duplicated artificially.

Just came across this thread a few hours ago and think its a great idea . From what I have been reading, the temperature that needs to be applied to the skin should remain within 37-40 degrees F consistently; a few degrees above freezing. The duration im not so sure about but have read between 20 to 40 minutes.. This needs more research as DLD mentioned. The frequency per week is another question. I have some 8 by 4 inch freezer gel packs that are malleable/form fitting that have a cloth type material on the outside. I think a thin cloth barrier between your skin and cold pack is a good idea as well to not freeze the skin. I wonder if a stick type thermometer would work to monitor the skin and pack temperature during the treatment?

That’s smart and definitely a regular thermometer would be able to keep track of temperature. And this way it will cost like $15 to see if this works, and I truly believe it works from the videos I’ve seen online, at least the ones that are in edited. I think I might pick up the same deal, I thermometer in some cold packs or ice packs. I have a big fat pad.To test on LOL

Same here. It defiantly hides my true size. I’m going to give it a go and shoot for 5 days a week and at least a month initially and push for 2.5 months if it’s working. I think 30 minutes a session should do it based on others who have done it successfully. I think having an extra cold pack at the ready In a small cooler will allow to keep the temperature within the range as the first one warms up ; Monitoring it closely with the thermometer. Too cold it can freeze and damage the skin and too warm it doesn’t work.

On a side note. Lowe’s has a longer digital stick thermometer that had a range of like 50 below to 700 degrees for around 15 bucks. This would work within the colder temperature range we want as the regular digital mouth thermometer I had didn’t go that low.

I found a great temperature device that goes around your waist, I sought today at the store I think it’s made for your arm but I think it’ll serve the purpose for a digital readout on attempting this project. The temperature is the most important part as you do not want to get so cold that there’s tissue damage but you don’t want it too warm either As this will not work on the fat. Specific guidelines need to be followed and I’m going by the guidelines of cool sculpting.

DLD and everyone else:

Look into Tim Ferriss's Four Hour Body, specifically "Cold Therapy". Yes, although uncomfortable, you can dramatically achieve fat loss EVERYWHERE on your body doing ice baths. It takes some getting used to but it works. If you're in large city, some spas have cold baths you can dive into. Otherwise you can do it at home.

In terms of getting rid of a fat pad specifically, this should do the trick:

Good luck!

I recall a guy from my past, who used to keep the heating off in the house, have windows open when it was really cold, so he would shiver, but not so that he was dangerous levels.

He lost weight ... when your cold, same with the cold baths, your body needs to warm up, and in so doing this it burns calories.

Perhaps have a colder environment if you can handle it.

Wow thank you so much for that link, my reduction in the size because of my fat pad has got me a bit down. It’s so different than it was when I was younger. Even though I’ve lost weight in my belly has reduced in size of fat pad remains. That’s never ever happens before every time I lost weight I would also lose the fat pad. So I’m hoping this therapy will help as it has for people who have gotten cool sculpting.

@DLD,

I’ve tried this cool sculpting before. I’ve also heard it referred to as “cold lipo”.

It works. The science is simple and straightforward.

FYI: I did 6 sessions in 2017 in South Florida and paid around 500 in total.

OK you got me so excited right now and so much more determined to create our own version of cool sculpting. I bet we could put together a system the costs half of what you paid to get your work done. And it will be a device that people by so they’ll be able to use it anytime in the future if they start collecting more fat. Tomorrow I’m going to order some stuff and see if I can make a version of what they are using for a smaller price. I love to invent!

It's an evolutionary faux pas: the only way homeostasis knows to keep your body temperature at 98.6 when its cold is to burn your body fat. You can utilize this hack effectively.

Now I got to think of a way to create a system that’s cheap enough that men can use it at home.

DLD, look at The Four Hour Body (they for sure have it in the library in Mass). Look at the chapter on Cold Therapy.

My parents run a Women's health practice and I tried the cold sculpting procedure on my abdomen.

You place this cloth that is soaked in menthol on the area and a piece of plastic covering it. Then the machine covers the cloth and the plastic and sucks on a portion of the area you are trying to treat. If you are on the chubby side, imagine a plunger stuck to your stomach and someone trying to pull it off but they can't.

Then the machine cools down... I don't know what temp it is, but the cooling sensation from the menthol cloth and the machine cooling is FUCKIN COLD lol.

Then it heats up really hot and this is where it supposedly "melts" the fat cells.

This process is repeated for 30 minutes.

I didn't pay for my treatment but you can't have a shit diet and do this. And it is not a one time only thing either.

Hope this helps.

Great help! Than you my Brother! Now we need a good two or three guys to test this and see if it works. From the sounds of it was cautious steps can be done. Well if anyone doing it let me know

removing that fat pad can be amazing but measuring bone pressing is painful when pressing too hard,a half an inch fat pad can be ideal

Definitely! I was able to get down to a quarter inch to where it didn’t really matter if I pressed or I didn’t press I was pretty much the same length. Losing the fat pad used to be something that was easy for me but now it’s quite a bit different. That doesn’t mean I’m giving up, I just means I’m gonna change my focus and try a different approach.

hwo did you lose that extra fat?

I’ll find the diet and the exercise routine I was using back then it’s here somewhere. I’m wicked tired so I’m going to answer a few more posts but I’ll look for it tomorrow and post it for you.

Yes last night was an odd evening ? it was you me talking about sleep while continued posting. Then you said your gonna train. I jerked off instead? and here I am back at it!

Yep I was supposed to take a shower,I didn't I jerked off I fell sleep...yep odd evening no doubt

Yup I messed up the NoFap, 10 days in, oh well start all over again. I can’t believe I’m still posting now I’m so delirious but I have to get my work done I don’t want to miss anything or anyone’s needs.

When I get that fat away gotta be easier to measure

I’m just wondering how the process works, what kind of results people have done, the comfort level and safety and level. I have a lot of questions before I want to start this.
