Crips and Bloods: Made in America

This is a documentary I watched on Netflix. It was really really good. They go back and talk about the history of racism and gang lifestyles from then until now. It was cool to watch the movie and to be from L.A. they were shooting some of the footage places where I pass by on the train all the time. It was interesting to see how gangs actually came to be. Basically it was because of how much of the oppression of racism was holding black people down the result was gangs. I never knew Watts and Compton was actually white neighborhoods where blacks weren't allowed. In the 90's the problem with Crips and Bloods was really bad but they have cleaned things up a lot since the last 20 years. Gangs are still violent and horrible as ever but they have moved to parts of the county where you are safe to inhabit during the day and live a normal life in most areas.

The problem lots of Crips and Bloods we're trying to get themselves to understand was blacks who were killing blacks were not helping the situation. Everyone was against them and they were even against themselves. When crack was introduced to the Ghetto is when everything became worse than ever and broke up a lot of families. This was a really good documentary and not just about gangs but about all the history that led up to the gang life and why it became a part of our culture.

i havent seen this,but i think i know what it'd be like.

we jus cant see that theres no benefit from killing eachother for petty shit. times have changed. if it means trucing with brothers so my homies and family dont get killed so be it, it keeps my loved ones alive.

these days ive slowly made a couple of blood homies, and i can tell you... were exactly the fuccin same.
i was pist off at how similar we actually are and the only thing that divided us was colors.
once you unite you really see how fuccin stupid it really all is, now i make money with tha bloods cuz we jus doin the same thing... tryna get paid to feed ours and survive.
but not all sets are like dis some muthafuccas still on that ol school shit, ive been there n done that. i jus hope oneday they see things the way i do now.

It is actually a really good movie, if you have any homies with Netflix ya'll should have a gangsta movie night, get some popcorn, blunts, and 40'z, n c wuts up. They make it almost like a documentary and then it switches back and forth with recent footage of ghettos and gangbangin'. The message is kinda what you think about trying to break up the violence between the rivals. There was a time they stopped and had a truce but the city failed on their half of the deal and the war started again. Mostly it is about how racism begin the whole problem of gang violence. It does not focus so much on how gang involvement or how the gang works, such as some documentaries do or the tv show Gangland. It basically talks about slavery, then the issue with segregation, then the riots of '92, and couple other riots actually. I didn't know L.A. had so much problems between Blacks and Whites up until the 90's even. I would feel bad except things are not any better even though the laws have changed, I have to put up with so much shit in the ghetto and being white everything is fucked up for me and even worse because they hate people who are not hood and I am much different than all of that business.

One day I was a blood when a car hit my legs, next thing I knew I was a crip but they eventually fixed my legs so now I am just plain old Mike.
