anyone use a steamer to cook food?

I cant cook to save my life, but need to buy a good steamer and learn to use it. Can anyone recommend any models/features and/or any good resources on the web for recipes/tips?

My mom has this little thing that almost looks like a tupperware container, but is actually a steamer that you stick in the microwave...it works fantastic. I use it daily, as I've been trying to watch what I eat so that I can can finally achieve the 6-pack that I've been yearning for since the time I was like 15...if you can find one of those it would definately be worth the purchase.

I use one all the time. It looks like a metal bowl that sits on top of a container with boiling water (hence the steam). I use it for all the veggies I cook.

Yea steamed veggies rock. They're liked cooked but u don't lose all the nutrients.

I started this thread purely to help me out as i would appreciate any advice anyone can give me on how to cook the healthiest food possible to help me with my training/recovery/growth.

In my own opinion there is often too much joking and going off-topic on [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MoS[/words], with one or two people being the common guilty parties of derailing otherwise informative and educational threads.

I make no apologies for stamping down on a post like "i can make eggs" and would seriously question how funny it is besides. If beboxbob would like to post any advice on making the best quality eggs in a steamer he would have recieved a heartfelt thank you, just as Inamo did.

If anyone can contribute good steamer advice I would look forward to reading it

Doesn't cutco sell those expensive knifes also. I got a steamer for like twenty bucks its a Yan can cook one it works well but sometimes the rice sticks to the bottom.

Just bought a russell hobbs. Did my homework first though and it seems a good model. (i hope)
