I think that sounds about right. 3/8" on the outside measurment, and I think 1/4" on the inside.

Sorry I thought it was zinc. I used PVC tube from B&Q at first, until someone gave me the latex stuff. The latex is smaller diameter and a little softer but it dicolours and keeps falling off.

If you can't locate the latex, try the B&Q stuff, it's <£1 for a meter. I think McMaster have the latex if you can't find it in the UK.
