It's best to keep everyone in the loop of any pending downtime or possible hiccup. Our loving IBM host is letting us know that on March 14, 2025, they're replacing hardwares.

Replace Hardware Module
Source ID: 165981326
State: Planned
Type: Maintenance
Severity: Medium Impact
Start Time: 14 Mar 2025, 2:30 AM UTC
End Time: 14 Mar 2025, 12:30 PM UTC
Update Time: 21 Feb 2025, 12:55 AM UTC
Description:
What are we changing?
Network Engineers will be performing maintenance to replace a faulty module in the redundant pair of Backend Customer Routers (BCR). The BCRs provide private connectivity for your server(s). Public connectivity will not be affected by this maintenance.

In my defense, I don't trust IBM as much as I can spell that acronym. We got plenty of these "low" and "medium" impact notifications and we ended up with "major" and "catastrophe" results. So, between March 14th to March 21st, if we get disconnected in some way, blame IBM. We'll do our diligence on backing up data religiously during this period as a precaution.

Excellent news. So you are saying we will still be able to post during this?

Yes. The service "should not" be interrupted. It's better not. Otherwise, IBM will have over 1,000 clients breathing down its neck. However, the "should not" must not be taken seriously. Always be ready for crap to happen.

Ok

Damn freaking IBM!!! YOU ARE KILLING OUR SANITY!! They ignored us completely.

IBM cause so many servers to go down. I sent multiple love notes to them and they were dealing with so many other higher-paying clients than to deal with us poorman's server. I managed to dig my ways out of their mistakes and got us back online.

Sorry for all the issues lately brothers. We'll be moving our server to a different Cloud Platform instead of paying any more to IBM. We'll let you know later about our migration.

Just a warning. IBM is notifying us of impending server hardware replacement on April 16. This means that between April 15 to April 17, we may experience some strange traffic slow down, the forum going down, or worst, data loss. I'm continuing to put the backup on a daily basis just in case, but will increase the back up to twice a day on these 3 days.

Just a few warnings everyone. In the next week or two, our virtual server host is undergoing some series of light upgrades to their infrastructures. Quite a few software and hardware removal and replacement. If you see slowdown or glitches, please be patient.

We also are experiencing massive visits from all over the world. In the past few weeks, our server is getting hammered by thousands of visitors per hour for a good 8 hours straight. If this kind of visits keep up, we'll expand the bandwidth just a bit more to accommodate the traffics.
