Smallville's Tom Welling To Be 'Superman'

Tom Welling ('Smallville') talked to MTV online at Sunday's Teen Choice Awards that he's signed on for a movie but is not allowed to discuss it, fueling rumors that he will star in X-Men director Bryan Singer's new Superman movie.

"I'm sworn to secrecy," Welling said with a smile. "It's too early." A spokesperson for Warner Bros. said the role has not yet been cast. Welling, in the meantime, will continue playing Clark Kent on the small screen. "We have a couple new characters [this season]," he said. "Lois Lane will be visiting Smallville, which keeps things interesting for Clark. ... And Clark isn't necessarily earthbound this season."

Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox has terminated its two-year deal with Singer because of the director's decision to take on Superman, which is owned by Warner Bros. Singer and the studio had been in discussions for a third X-Men" movie, but a deal was never finalized.

I am almost tempted to download it off usenet, but I will wait to see it on my TV like everyone else. Lois lane and he learns how to fly!

Ya as soon as you see previews of video games or movies usually someone working for the company say WB will leak the files lol.

For example I DL'd Collateral before it hit the big screen with good quality too. Only thing is it had a lil square in the corner but other than that nothin wrong with it.

I only watch it early if its something Im not really in to. Smallville is a different story though I can wait a month.

I'd rather see Christopher Reeve do the part Surely with todays technology, they can blue/green screen out the wheel chair and such. LOL

Tom Welling could not get the part in the movie, but rumor is he has a small cameo in the new Batman movie as the young Clark Kent. The actor from Monte Cristo and Passion of the Christ is supposedly landed the part and signed for it.
