I have been going to the gym now for over a year and just recently have been going consistently 2 to 3 times a week for the past 3 months. I am usually doing a range of machines as well as some free weights to build upper body strength and Leg strength

Anyway 4 days ago I went and was just doing treadmill for about 20 minutes, I then went and started doing dunbells and during my first set I got this huge pain on the back of my neck just wear it connects to the skull. I thought perhaps i didn't warm up enough or something and just thought it was a one off incident. I didnt continue to train that day i just went home. Today I was starting my session after fully warming up and the agonizing pain came back. This pain just throbs and it doesnt seem like I have pulled a muscle because you dont use your neck muscles for either of the exercises i was doing.

Does anyone have any Idea what is going on? I will go see a doctor about it in the next few days but it is very annoying since I was really starting to do well at the gym and tonning up very nicely >:(

Any help would be appreciated,
Cheers!

Go see a chiropractor... you may have just mis-aligned a vertebrae and a simple adjustment should sove your problem.

do you know that chiropractors can permanantly
paralize you by this so called alignment shit?

i wouldn't go to one, An mri is the best tool to really
see if you have a herniated disc, cause if there is pain in your neck
or back thats what is most likely causing it

Yea, yea, yea... and planes can fall out of the sky also. Fact is that Chiropractors have been around forever and are a big part of sports medicine. In fact, most medical insurance plans now cover Chiropractic services where they didn't just a few years ago...

yea man I agree with sik... anytime I've had injuries to the neck or back I've headed to the chiropracter and its helped immensely. I'd check one out they're relatively inexpensive nowadays depending on where you live.

Chiropractic Physicians use MRI's as well as radiographs to diagnose problems like this. They do much more than back pain...

Do you have any documentation on chiros "paralyzing" anyone? I understand if you are scared to go to one... but you shouldn't spread rumors without basis.

Point being... if you have a problem like this, see a doc. MD/DC/DO... let them help you.

I would rest it for a few days first. Just because the major pain is gone, doesn't mean it has fully recovered. Your form might be bad or a muslce just pulled. It happens from time to time.
