I started drinking like Redbull and coffee but not too much. I like it sometimes because it gives me a good spark to practice and sometimes make me focus more in times of stress or when I'm really tired. I feel like I should cut down and start getting use of practicing without those drinks. I heard they are bad for you but I don't drink coke just water and juice. Energy drinks are the only bad thing I drink. But I also drink water while I'm drinking a Redbull.

I was wondering what is yall take in this. I don't want bad affects later. Like you can't start off your day or practice without drinking one. I don't want to get like that.

Well, I'm more into natural stuff. I mean stuff that is given from nature itself and not refined by human. But that's just my wicked opinion. Another reason why I avoid such drinks is because I want my body to learn to energize on its own. Once you get addicted to energy drinks your body would most probably stop energizing itself (not at all, but not as much as it would if you didn't drink the energy shit) and you must have them if you want to be in shape. It is just like my mom and her coffee. If she does not have a coffee every morning she feels like SHIT (and acts like one rofl). If she has her coffee- she seems to be ok (still acting like shit though rofl!!!!!!!!). You judge by yourself what is the difference :).

Man when I went to Aussie, I popped a Red Bull because I went out with friends right after work. We end up getting with the beautiful girls- huge asses and huge tits, and I could not get an erection at all. That was the first and THE LAST time I will ever drink an energy drink before sex.

That sound like something I DO NOT (!!!!!!!!) want to experience.... EVER! Damn...

I think every girl should experience this before sex with her boyfriend.

Once in a while I will rock a Redbull if I am out late and need to be awake but too much and it can cause anxiety and jittery feelings. Coffee does not effect me this way and I drink 1-3 coffees per day.

I have no idea i had heard about that stuff before, but moderation is key...those drinks accelerate your heart rhytm..

My beef with energy drinks and "shots" is, I honestly wish I'd gotten into the market or invested in one of the big brands. LOL. They really are a brilliant money scheme. Especially the "shots". A little what, 4 ounce bottle in some pretty label that probably costs $1 total to mass produce, sold for $4. Usually only around 80mg of caffeine and some junk, so called "proprietary" mix of ingredients...usually a little water, sodium, additives, colorant and some sort of sugar/"ose".

I don't personally drink the things. I prefer buying a bottle of caffeine pills at a CVS pharmacy or Walmart for example. A bottle of 80 pills, 200mg of caffeine per pill is around $4-$5. So, pennies each per dose and you can just cut them in half and have all the caffeine of a much more expensive product with no added junk except some harmless binders/powder.

I just saw in the news that 5 Hour Energy is being sued for false advertisement.

Sugary poison. Keep that garbage out of your body. Give up all carbonated pop drinks as well.

I drink Matcha whenever I need a pick me up for work or school. Coffee does it for me when it comes to workouts.

It's garbage. You can drink regular black coffee instead. In many of the energy drinks they have way to much caffeine and sugar, in relation to the quantity of liquid. Coffee is safer in this way. Don't even drink juice it's as much garbage as an energy drink. To much sugar which are spiking your blood sugar level (B-glucose levels).

Caffeine can be dangerous at high levels. To much caffeine, and then out and run, and your heart can stop.

Really? I think that is true but that depends of how unhealthy and the amount of coffee someone drinks I guess..

Maybe I was to aggressive with my answer. (slap)

There are other point of views on this as well. For example our Neurons need a constant supply of carbohydrates/glucose in our blood stream to function optimally, because they can not store glucose/energy as "regular cells" can.

Our body have other ways to regulate up the blood sugar levels/glucos in your bloodstream in order for your brain and nerve cells to not starve and die. But that process is a very complex process. You need to be like a Doctor or a researcher in order to understand it on a deep level. It's a very complex system.

When you don't have a steady supply of glucose (from food), just som surface level information.
Glucagon triggers your liver to convert stored glucose (glycogen) into a usable form and then release it into your bloodstream. This process is called glycogenolysis. Glucagon can also prevent your liver from taking in and storing glucose so that more glucose stays in your blood.

That is why we can go an entire day withoutfood and our brain still works fine. Imagine if our ancestors didn't had their brain working when they had no access to food/fuel?

With my ADHD/Autism I really need to think about these things to optimize my brain performance when I need it. Drinking coffee gets me into hyperfocus mode and this is not always beneficial (when I can't control it, or are focusing on the wrong thing). Also I forget to eat and drink when I'm in hyperfocus mode.

So drinking juice when I need to focus on something for a long time can help me with the rebound effect from a session of hyperfocus mode (short explanation: Sitting more then 5 hours 100% focused on one thing without a break).

So I suppose drinking glucos (juice...) and drinking energy is not to bad, as long as we do it in moderation. But strangely enough being on 20:4 diet for 1 year did work for me, but it was not optimal. But I did feel more focused and did not experienced as much brain fog as when I was on a high carbohydrate diet. I ate mostly meat and vegetables (also some tubers like potatoes and carrots).

I don't know the underlying mechanisms/processes (can't explain them on a deep level) for this, but I'm sure someone knows this in this brotherhood?
But I think it has something to do with that our body and brain need to work all the time no matter, if there isn't any food around (for survival). If it didn't was the case we would die from starvation. No brain = no hunting/gathering food = death.

For example: Drinking to much water is not good for you either, if this results in you diluting your your body's fluids, and or depleting the important balance your body have by peeing everything out (the electrolyte balance...and so forth). I could go deeper in explaining this, but I do not have all the information easy accessable in the back of my head.

I think to much about penis enlargement so everything else gets pushed aside. 😂

Just wanted to expand the topic/discussion to a wider perspective.

Take care 🙂

I can explain it at the biochemical interaction level, but you have to sit through a lecture with me. However, when I say to stay away from it, I mean it from the bottom of my heart to warn you three things that those I lost suffered from them even after I warned them nearly a decade.
  • The drinks will eat your stomach up and destroy your kidneys. My brother is suffering from it.
  • Worst case scenario, cancers of the stomach and intestines. Lost a few friends from excessive drinking these craps.
  • Chemical dependencies from high level of sugars, and resulted with diabetes. 5 suffered from this. Now they are on insulin. Too late for regrets.
The chemicals also reduce your body abilities to suppress inflammation, reduce your mind to shut down during rest phases, and cause hallucinations during high active phases. I can go on and on, but under PE, it will hurt you more than benefit you.

As for coffee, too much of a good thing is a bad thing, when you load it with cream and sugars. I drink 8 to 12 cups a day, black, but at the right timing to benefit from it. One hour after eating, stop drinking one hour before eating, dilute coffee concentration half the normal brew strength, and drink water using coffee (caffeine) to flush my system clean.

I get up really early and coffee really helps jump start my brain and body fast. ESP if I only had 6 hours or less sleep.

Death Wish coffee (high caffeine) and Nut Pods (only 10 cal per tbsp) with liquid stevia is mostly my only vice, with some Chillantro every few months since I can't really handle bud in high doses any more without getting anxiety.

Had a sugar-free Red Bull, before a workout for the first time in a long time other day.
Man, it tasted terrible to me. I can't believe I used to dink them everyday.

Your coffee may be a bit down to earth level compared to mine. I drink stovetop Italian and dark French roasted coffee that goes beyond the so called Death Wish and Vietnamese coffee. If you take the normal 12 cups of coffee most people drink, condense to 6 cups which is the standards Starbucks, reduce further downt o 4 cups which is Death Wish, and boil down even more to 2 cups, that's where I am. Take that 2 cups and fill it up to the mug size I normally drink daily, which is 32oz. It's practically like flavored water to me now.

My brother used to drink this daily. It wrecked his stomach and liver. Try to stay far away from energy drink when you can.

Death Wish is just a brand. I don't blame you for taking your coffee like that. I love strong coffee.

I know Death Wish brand. We have a local coffee bar that brews Death Wish brand fresh on order. Still weak for me.

Great you are still healthy but energy drinks aren't the healthiest..Water there are brands that are way better than average bottled water..

That's a bit too much. 1 or 2 per week, it's good if you drink sufficient amount of water. 1 or 2 a day, that's asking for bladder and liver problems, not to mention intestinal and heart.
Ok. I drink at least a gallon of water every day

Since it's cold there, about 3/4 gallon, with proper electrolyte supplement to prevent magnesium and salt loss. With that in mind, you can now drink 1, mayyyyyyyybe 2, energy drink a day.
