They shall renew their strength as an eagle. I kept hearing these words to a song in my head over and over.
An eagle is one of the most beautiful birds of all. It flies gracefully. Its hunting skills are amazing. Its a simble of freedom in America. Its protected by stiff fines for killing it or even bothering its nest.
One amazing thing I discovered about an eagle is that although it is a ferocious hunter as it ages it loses its acuracy and skill. An older eagles beak becomes knarled and curved to the point that it can not eat enough to sustain itself. It becomes weak and its eyesite which was keen is now dim from malnutrition. When an eagle gets in this condition it soars high above all predators usually in the higher mountain peaks or another place of safety. It will then find a rock or some hard object and hit its beak on the object until it rips it completely off. Imagine the helplessness. The eagle is then forced to fast until a new beak grows to replace it. When the beak grows it will use what strenght is left to fly up in the currents then soar in the wind until it once again can make a kill and eat. In a matter of days it replaces the body weight that was lost from the fasting as well as regaining all the strength of its youth. When this happens it is said that the life span is now half over.
IF the eagle does not make the sacrifice and change his situation certain death will follow.
Sometimes it seems that we are at the end of our road and despair is upon us.The choice is ours if we let it consume us or if we change whatever it takes to RENEW ourselves. Life IS hard, cruel, and unfair. We are dealt situations that we do not choose. Losing my best friend last week was the hardest thing i've ever faced. I thought my life was over. To be honest I do not know how to go on from here. So I guess its time to "head to to mountain top" and start all over.
