i was watching the detroit and indiana game for a while then i fell asleep cuz it look like it was going to be a blowout...i wake up to see the halftime report of the memphis and sacramento and find out that there was a brawl after ben wallace went after ron artest...then the fans get involved by throwing something at ron artest...ron was just laying on a table and a cup comes flying at him..well he goes after a fan and all hell breaks loose...fans are throwing punches...the pacers are throwing punches...jermaine o'neal lay someone the fuck out....and while going into the locker room fans threw cups full with soda, popcorn and th pacer players...

well the way i feel about it is that those fans got what they deserved...if anyone of them would have came on the court...he should have got laid out too...regardless of what i do for a living...i am a man first...and i don't know any man that would let someone do that to him in any walk of life....i understand that they are there for the public entertainment...but professional players already put up with enough as it is...i've been to games at madison square garden...and fans yell all type of shit at players about their families...racial shit...anything they can think of that might get a rise out of them...now to physically touch them with anything is way out of line....i'm sure there are going to be some bitch ass fans screaming lawsuit...but if it was up to me anyone that was involved in that would not get a dime...but this is all just my opinion

Either way, no one was in the right. Suspensions will be handed out like coupons. Artest is a damn fool in my opinion. I don't remember seeing or hearing any indication this is what kind of person he was while at SJU.

Every player involved should be suspended from the game for a year. They prolly deserve some jail time too. Because some throws a plastic cup at you or your team or verbally assaults you, it gives you no right to slam someone into a chair or start sucker punching. Not to mention any of the elderly or children that could have been innocently hurt.

They are supposed to be 'professionals'. They have the pose and maturity of a bunch of monkies.

what because they make millions of dollars..they should act accordingly...oh no i forgot it is in their job discription to take physical or verbal abuse..from drunken idiots..that wish they could be them....i don't know what you do for a living but if someone came into your office and threw a cup of whatever in your face....what will you do? oh and this is after another grown ass man take both of his hands and pushed you in your face...and you let that slide...i say fuck that...you man enough to try to pull some shit like that..you should be man enough to take what comes along with it...i'm not saying it was right for the players to go into the stands...i would have rather see artest hit wallace for what he did...and yes if innocent bystanders such as kids and the ederly were to get injured in the melee...that would be wrong...but jail time for knocking the shit out of someone that throw shit at you or come on the court to confront you...please

Simply put. No one acted in self defense that started the brawl.

I'm glad the commisioner has some sense. He did suspend Artest for the rest of the season. I don't see why Jemaine O'neal isn't though.

Actually, everyone there was acting like fools. I don't know who the idiot was that threw the cup (that somehow landed perfectly right side up...thought that was impressive actually) but he should have been thrown out of the game and dealt with later. There was no security to speak of and that is a major reason anything actually occurred between anyone other than Artest. It just got crazy after Artest went in. But when Steven Jackson knocked the fuck out of that one guy that was non sense. And I'm done listening to all this Oh man what would you have done if you had someone throw something on you...you know what shit worse than that has happened to me and was dealt with but FUCK the WHAT IF YOU WERE IN HIS SHOES AREN'T YOU A MAN BULLSHIT cause it didn't happen to you and if it ever did or does then you can tell us, but it's besides the point because even if you did or didn't handle a similar or the exact situation the same way as the players did the consequences are what matters. If you have a family and you're going to behave that way you not only put yourself in danger of doing some disgraceful shit to your family members, but also put them at risk at losing their father/husband for a period of time maybe even forever. Shit you guys want to play what if, lets say Steven Jackson hit that man twice in the nose as hard he did the first time and killed him. Then what? You going to say it was still self defense and that he was just reacting to stick up for his teammate. Ain't gonna work in court. Neccessary force was well exceeded. I know when the shit actually happens and you're in the moment things get crazy and all of those things don't enter your mind, but subconsciously having all your responsibilities, the ones to not just yourself is apart of character. Your actions reflect your character because your thoughts dictate your actions. Everyone makes mistakes, but if these thigns aren't programmed into your head by the time you are 26 years old with a family then something isn't right. Artest and his issues, he just has react mode. Wherever that comes from he needs to check it. As for the fans beer and the idea that because they pay to get in they can do or say what they want played a huge part in all this. It isn't the media either feeding this mentality which I heard someone say on TV last night. People at games are just getting more obnoxious and closer to the actual players than before.

The main point is while you're supposed to stick up for yourself and teammates walking away from that bullshit shows you have more to think about than yourself. I'm not playing about this either. You fuck up your life for "being a man" or "keepin' it real." Shit, Dave Chappelle knows what the fuck he's talking about. Sometimes your own stupidity can cost you seriously. Very true...I've watched on the media all of the lawsuits that are unfolding and they are revoking the man who threw the cup of his season tickets and atleast a fine. Everyone is really getting what they deserved out of this. Two men that were innocent bystanders are filing a lawsuit against O'Neil for being punched by him and everything else is working itself out. Fuck around, you pay the consequence, sometimes even if you have money, like in this case. Artest should be out more than a season, I think hes had his three strikes for quite a while. At any rate, it was a bunch of stupid decisions made by everyone apart of it. Its not only the Detroit fans that are to blame, I got kinda sick of hearing this on espn. Its everyones fault in the incedent, once Ben shoved Artest he should of just took it and Ben would have gotten a technical and that would have been it. Too bad that didn't happen though.
