physical checkups

well i had a "physical" awhile back and just out of curiosity whats the point of peeing into a cup? why do they make you do that. is it to check and see if you have stds, do drugs, what? i got really nervous because i smoked a couple of days before i did it but nothing ever happened, but just wondering.

Liver function, kidney function, blood sugar for diabetes, protein check for ketosis...all sortsa things.
