So now that I've had time to think from being off from work, I've forgotten that I have no friends and no place in life. The friends I've had faded away and when I call them it is an empty feeling since our friendships diminished. The few friends I've hung out with were losers that got high and were a waste of time. So now I'm trying to find a place to go (a bar) but I don't want to go by myself. I wish I had a wing man, or a buddy to go with. I would be able to meet people and start a new social life. But I don't, and feel completely dead to the world. I've died a lot more today than I have in a long time.

I know how you feel, losing friendships and all. But don't let that get to you. At one point I had to decide whether I wanted to keep hanging around my old group of friends who were going nowhere fast (drugs), or whether I wanted to focus on my schooling and find a new group of friends. It takes time, and is possible, but it takes effort. I don't know what to tell you, meet people at work? Get involved at something at a gym or something? This sounds corny but I have heard of people doing it, sign up for a dancing class like salsa or tango or something, its a great place to meet women.

How old are you? Are you married, or divorsed? Do you have a girl friend? Are you at School, or do you work? Are you on any medication? Do you take drugs? Do you drink to excess?

These are very important questions that you must answer before anyone can help you.

Try to look at it as an opportunity to re-invent yourself. No ties, you can go whichever direction you decide to go.

I agree with Texan. You are now free to do whatever you want, no ties, noone knows your defects or flaws or any stories (good or bad) about you. This is a good opportunity to became the person you want to be. Maybe you are already and can start living as it now.

well, I'm 21, no girlfriend, work full-time, don't do drugs. Just kind of lost. I work a lot, and I've had time off to think about things. I realized I haven't made time to keep or make friendships with anyone. I don't have time. Friendships are something I never valued. It just feels like there's no one relatable out there.
